Cyndi, I am pretty much following the Atkins Diet. I have now pretty much figured out that I am allergic to carbs. LITERALLY!!! When I don't have carbs I notice that I don't have cravings and arent' hungry all the time. Less carbs also leaves me more satisfied with having smaller portions and as a result I end up taking in fewer calories. I am also taking vitamin supplements. That helps for sugar withrdrawal which can give you headaches. I am working out 5 days a week for 30 minutes.

Here is what is on my menu for today:

Breakfast: 1 egg fried in Pam w/ 3 thin slices of lean microwavable bacon. (Approximately 2-3 oz of protein)

Lunch: Tuna salad with mayo and celery and a small salad with oil and vinegar dressing (about 4 oz of protein)

Afternoon snack: 1 Atkins shake (about 2 oz of protein)

Dinner: Chicken Dijon with asparagus. Chicken breast in a dijon cream sauce and 6 spears of asparagus. ( approximately 5 oz of protein)

Total is less than 15 grams of carbs for the day and about 13 oz of protein. I don't count calories. I just know that with less carbs, I will eat less food and hence take in less calories. I am more concerned with the carb content and the portions.

Hope this helps.
