This thread is so amazing! What a varied and interesting group.
I took my first cruise 12 years ago when my parents took my sister and I on HAL. I was hoooked! My husband Steve and I then took several trips with a group from Domaine Chandon (sadly the group no longer exists) on Princess and Crystal. My experiences with those lines were colored somewhat by the fact we were with a large group of spakling wine lovers and were supplied with endless parties and extra ammenities not available to a "regular" passenger. We were scheduled to sail on The PG for our 5th anniversary but my daughter came along and put a slight delay in our cruising schedule. Since her birth we've sailed on Windstar in the Mediterranean (a unique and relaxing experience, one I'd gladly repeat), Celebrity to the Carribean (my sister got married on the trip, she's hooked too), Disney (got to get the daughter hooked on cruising too!) and then two wonderful trips on RSSC; Mariner through the Panama Canal and the Paul Gauguin for our 10th anniversary (only 5 yeaqrs late!). We're returning to Celebrity this summer because I want to travel with my sister and her husband and RSSC is simply out of their budget. It will be my 10th cruise!!
My husband and I have been married for 10 years, we're both in our late 30's, our daughter is 5. I'm originally from Michigan and have lived in Kentucky, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. My husband is from New York and has been in Texas for 15 years. I'm a physician (pathology is my specialty) and Steve is a mechanical engineer who is now "retired". Actually he's a great at-home-dad to our daughter. We live in McKinney Texas which is near Dallas with our two cats, a hermit crab and a turtle who showed up in our pool one day. We're currently building a house which is driving me absolutely crazy. I really need a cruise!
