Marc, I agree with Wendy: I'd be afraid that if you canceled, others might get your seats off a waitlist and you'd lose your seats.

Here's the other possible problem I see: you cancel your pre-booked tickets, and they'll deposit the refund into your shipboard account. I can't imagine they'll be doing real-time refunds and credits to credit cards onboard the ship. If they do this, I'm sure it would be refundable at the end of the cruise if unused -- but if you re-book the tour, it might just use up this same credit in your account, leaving you with the same shipboard credit you started with!
