I've come to the conclusion that the system will only allow you to prebook if you are on a single segment (probably has something to do with the booking number). We tend to book multiple segments, so I'm not able to book online for Viking or for Dragon (which begins on 10/17) since we have multiple segments on both cruises. (If JoanandJoe can book Oct. 30, the Oct. 17 cruise should be open also, right?). I hope that problem won't apply when I try to book restaurant reservations, but I have a really bad feeling about it. Regarding payment in advance for excursions, I'll refuse to do that. If I wanted to cruise on Oceana, I would--I do NOT want Regent to be anything like Oceana--asking for payment in advance is a mass market thing--Regent should not be doing it. It's pretty much a moot point anyway, since most of the excursions will be free for the next couple years--after that, we'll see. :mad:
