We went to a really memorable dinner at Forty Ate on ROAR 1. It's a bit of a hike from the waterfront area. I'm not clear whether the restaurant is still open. One of the finest meals I've had, and best appreciated by an adventuresome, roll with it diner. At that time, the most frequent answer to questions on the menu items was "the chef will decide when he prepares your dish." The high (or low, depending on your perspective) point of the meal was when Gary's pork dish was transformed to fish. Gary and Serge (the dining captain) went back and forth as to (a) had the chef decided Gary should have fish or (b) was the restaurant out of pork? Gary did get a springbok entree. If I were heading back through Cape Town, I'd go again.
