I do not want to go so far without seeing Tokyo, but like some others, we have too much luggage to use the train to get to Osaka. How would it be to fly to Osaka with the luggage, and then leave it at a hotel and take the train to Tokyo for an overnight there? Does anyone know how long the train would take?

Another idea is to have our luggage shipped to Osaka, and then just fly with a small bag to Tokyo and take the train to Osaka.

Any other ideas? It would be nice if Regent offers a pre-cruise Japan tour, but it does not seem that will happen.
