Well the continuing saga. Another ship is now blocked from entering Russia. We heard it is JUST this Chukchi area of Russia having this problem. The other Russian ports are not blocked. This is where an old military base is situated and may have somethng to do with that. They are sensitive about even Russians visiting here.

Port Hope is no longer possible, lack of manpower to provide immigration service. So we are off to Nome. We arrive at 10.00 pm tonight and get clearance. Then we sail again and have two landing spots tomorrow. Then back to Nome for a day in port. They are arranging two tours for all of us, one for dog sledding and a tour about the gold rush.
