Well bad news! Russia just contacted the ships in the area and said NO foreign flagged ships can land on Eastern Russia soil. There are three ships in the area now.

So here we are docked in the port we are cleared individually BUT the ship is not cleared. There is still negotiation going on and this could change.

The next trip on the Silver Explorer after the North West Passage is ALL Russian ports. Jim and Pat are booked on that. I am more worried about Jim and Pat's trip than our trip as there are options for us on the US side of the dateline. I have seen this in China before they say NO and wont let the ship in but then they "negotiate" and things are okay. There is time for this to be all be worked out by the time Jim and Pat start their trip.
