Maybe somebody's said this before, but here's a big one for me: choose guest lecturers that enhance the destinations. Our two Caribbean trips have been disappointing in this regard--nothing about the local history, culture, anthropology, natural world. Nada. We had Stubbs talking about the politics and economics of China--how about somebody lecturing about Guatemalan history, or Mayan civilization? On the PG this part of the trip is perfect.
