New thread - New subject.

I have some new reservations today and this is the status.

New bookings can be confirmed at Madikwe Hills
Capacity 24 people for each group

Waitlisted at Leopard Hills.
Capacity 16 people for each group

For the overflow from Leopard Hills I will come up with an alternative that some may want and decide to move voluntarily. Probably two options.

(a)less expensive
(b)more upscale

This I will do after all pricing comes in. I have asked for pricing to be done by July 10, 2006. Lets hope that this happens. Many different suppliers to contact and try to confirm 2007 rates for 2008. It is a slow process.

Also there are bound to be cancellations. If no cancellations happen and no space opens up due to a voluntary change of camp, the person on the waitlist can always cancel. There will be a 100% refund of the deposit whether or not someone takes that place as the booking was never 100% confirmed.

If you do not get an email from me then you are confirmed in both camps at this time.

No credit cards will be charged until we have the full price and I confirm with you that you are still wanting to book.

Any new reservations will be taken and put on the waitlist as they are received. AFter I leave for BLISS send them attention Julie Harris or Ngaire (she is me while I am gone anyway)

Just wanted people to know that I have cleared everyone from the waitlist.

Some people moving camps
I did have some volunteers who contacted me and said they would be willing to move to make space after the post above, and I did contact everyone signed up for a 4 night stay and make suggestions to them for an alternative. Some moved some did not.

It was way too complex to post here as it developed you would have all been totally confused. I was confused!! A "moving" target. It has been a giant juggling act with the most complex spreadsheet I have ever developed.

I appreciate the flexibility of those who agreed to move to make all this work.

The people doing the order Madikwe Hills/Leopard Hills was dictated by all those doing 4 nights or that agreed to change lodges. I have to make the charter flights work with certain numbers of people so those moving camps from Leopard Hills to other camps had to be together on the same planes to the same locations. We will have two small groups of people, one group of six at Kings Camp and one group of 10 at Lion Sands and also people at Leopard Hills. We are putting some people in an overflow camp in the Madikwe Hills area to make that all work.

I am still sorting out all the final details and we will have additional room for more people who want to come.

Space is now available for the camp order Leopard Hills/Madikwe Hills.

Anyone that was not involved in my "moving the overflow" is confirmed with the original combination of Leopard Hills and Madikwe Hills with the one night free promotion. Including those on the waitlists.

Leopard Hills/Madikwe Hills
I do ask that you be flexible if you have that combination of Leopard Hills/Madikwe Hills to whichever order I need to have you in to make the space and flights work. I know everyone wants to know "which group am I in and who is with me"? It is impossible to confirm all this 2 years out. There will be cancelations and changes and it is constantly going to change. If I post lists like that this early people get "married" to that list and there is NO WAY that this wont change. So I really prefer not to post those lists and ask for your understanding on this issue. If there are any of you that are already close friends let me know and I will do the best I can to accommodate you together.

I am sure between now and TWO YEARS from now things will change. The key is I now have everyone accommodated with more space on the most popular choice of Leopard Hills/Madikwe Hills.

Okay now I think I will have a BIG glass of wine with dinner tonight or maybe Champagne!!!

Julie, by the time Ngaire gets home things will change, just as they did before! Ngaire, go off on BLISS, enjoy everyone, this trip is SO far off. One thing I know from being involved from the beginning of ROAR is that things change, all the time! By the time we were done, people had canceled and re-booked, and we had a few new people tacked on the end that were wonderful! It was a great group!

GREAT NEWS - Fred and Pat just called me from LISBON, they are going on ROAR 2. He was so upset when he had to cancel ROAR 1 so he is very excited about ROAR 2.

People will cancel and things will change Olivia is right, but then that will mess up my pretty colored co-ordinated spreadsheet!!!

Once again thank you to those who moved to the other camps from the main group. That is what made this all work. Nearly all ROARERS and I appreciate that they wanted to be sure all new ROAR 2, LCT'ers were accommodated.

We went from a waitlist to three additional spots left for the Leopard HIlls/Madikwe program and then we are 100% full.

That is great news! Fred and Pat are a wonderful addition to the group.

Reminds me of the song "Spinning Wheel"

Cheers, Anne

Actually 43 people right now including Ken and me. Three singles, Claudia, June and Sheri.

Maximum capacity is 49 people so 3 rooms left for up to 6 people.

It will work great though because it is split up into smaller groups all over the place so there wont be too many at one time.

The BIG get together will be in Cape Town on the 17th where all but two (Leslie and Brad) will be together. That night we will do our BAIA dinner. Some doing just Hermanus/ Game Parks may have just flown in so maybe everyone will not be there.

I like that Fred & Pat take Ngaire's number with them on vacation!

Oh, the folks at Baia are going to have another experience of a lifetime with us!

We were THRILLED to get the "you cleared the waitlist" email from Ngaire. And Ngaire, we are completely flexible - in the coming months, if there is someplace you want to move us to accommodate others, new bookings or existing, we'd be more than glad.

Enjoy that champagne, Ngaire!!!!!

I figure the plane from Amsterdam will arrive about the same time 2 years from now. Times rarely change. Basel has been the same for 7 years within 30 minutes or so.

Andi are you coming in on that night? The flight that I see leaves AMS at 10 am and doesn't get into CPT until 10:40pm. You'll be midnight or so, getting to the hotel.

THe times change...I was at the hotel by 10pm for ROAR. By 10:40, I had consumed several drinks with Ray and Penny. We got in early.
