Hello everyone - just checking in after a lovely dinner at Signatures with the ROAR single ladies - Olivia, Joanna, Suzanne, Suzie and Marilyn.

It's been a busy couple of days - up early again yesterday for a wonderful 6 mile hike, and I haven't been leaving the Voyager lounge until after midnight. I have some wonderful photos, but didn't bring my laptop. However, Don most graciously said I could borrow his to post a few, which I will try to do tomorrow.

I think someone asked what time the gym opens - 6:00 am. Today was a day off but I'll be back there tomorrow morning.

I did enjoy my first pooch lesson - I'm a bit of a slow learner, so I'm glad everyone was patient with me.

It's karaoke in the Voyager Lounge this evening!!

Maybe Photobucket is having problems today. It is normally a stable site so if that is so, it shouldn't last too long.

Freddie - exactly right! We chose skeet shooting (????) or possibly javelin.

Scareoke lived up to its billing. Our gents "The PRIDE of LCT" warbled "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" while the ladies oh weeem oh whipped oh weem oh whipped in the background. Jamie never seemed happier than when it was o-VER! He passed out the emergency ear plugs (kleenex) AND ran out of tokens, there were so many American Idol never will bees. Marcie cleaned up on poker. The bump came back on the dance floor. It's a night to remember .. pull the interim drapes if you have any hope of sleeping as it's still rock and roll in the sea.

Geez .. another sea day, more seagulls drafting off the ship and we're pushing 70 degrees latitude.

Cheers, Anne

Anne - Wow, I finally got a Trivia question right!!

It's quite ironic that The Pride of LCT and their girl groupies sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", since Hank Medress, the lead singer of the Tokens, died in Manhattan on Sunday. How kind of you all to sing a tribute to him with his most famous song. Fortunately, he was not yet buried; so he couldn't roll over in his grave in humiliation.

Cheers, Fred

Freddie - We are so impressed with your accomplishment!

It must be the Ngaire juju at work again. To think that we timed the 'tribute' for Hank Medress at such an appropriate time! What we lacked in talent we made up for in volume.

Cheers, Anne (POOCH point slut)

Great job of posting by the LCT group. Not much to add but it is about 2.00 am here, back from the Voyager lounge and Ken is working on some pictures before we lost the internet. We are afraid if we dont do it now that the internet will go down.

Kareoke was wonderful tonight. So many passengers participated. We found the GEORGE is a REAL singer. A lot of fun.

The duo has figured out our theme song, We Are Family but instead WE ARE LCT - I HAVE ALL MY FAMILY WITH ME. Been playing our song and calling us all to the dance floor each night. But unfortunately they dont have that song on the kareoke machine!!!

Food has been really great. Tonight I had rack of lamb and it was as good as I have ever had. YUM YUM. The fresh Norwegian Salmon has been outstanding as well. Life is pretty good here on the Voyager!!

Okay Kens pictures should be here soon, maybe even before this post we are both working on computers.

Up before NOON tomorrow??? Unlikely!

The map didn't copy over but our course is taking us through or close to D3/D4, C3/C4, and B4. We have had gale force winds for a while and it looks like they are continuing. Hopefully, it will be calmer for our trip into Longyearben tomorrow morning. If anyone wants to track updates to forecast, here is the link .

Trip has been wonderful though we wimped out on Voyager Lounge last night; still too tired from day before. Today, I had to get up by 6am to book our flight to Athens for B2B next year; partial success so it was worthwhile.

Life is good!! We're out here rockin and rollin....It is so strange that we won't see another sunset til July 2nd (Anne told me this and she's always right!) It is VERY weird with all this daylight all night long.

Last night I played in the Texas Hold Em Tournament and WON #1 place....$500. It seemed to go a long time with another man and me finally head to head for what seemed like an eternity. I missed the karaeke but I could hear it all from the casino. After the tournament I went to VL for some celebrating and dancing with all our LCT family.

I have sure been sleeping a lot with all this rockin and rollin....I wake up in the morning and roll over and go right back to sleep again! (maybe not leaving VL until 2:00am last night has something to do with that!)

Today is another sea day....more trivia, pooch and poker. Today Ngiare is going to play in one of the Texas Hold 'Em tournaments too. It's a tough life here aboard the Voyager but hey, someone has to do it!!

Larry, I didn't bring our lap top with email addresses but will get Dag's for you. I know he'd love to see the photos. I wish you and Karen were with us.....it's just as if we never left!

Mark, the weather in Svalbard actually looks nice today, according to the numerous Svalbard cams I have been looking at. No sign of the Voyager but I think I may have got up to late.

Left my glasses in my suite (with my son who is seasick - poor old Michael has never been seasick before) and tried to log on to get my emails but kept hitting the wrong keys for my password and am now locked out!!

Can't compete with the photos or reports already posted but I'm having a great time in spite of the shocking seas. I can't believe it - I get sick on a swing or pier and yet here I am racing around like a two year old (well let's not get carried away)!!

The 360 degree turn of the Voyager yesterday was unbelievable. We were right up the front of the ship and came so close to the waterfall. Ken's photos are fanastic!

If there is something above you cannot read, please bear in mind I'm typing this 'blind'!!!

More poochers joined the game today - Joanna, Tony and Tom (Mr. cruiserPK) have now learned the ropes. Ngaire is busy recruiting players so that she will have some poochers on all her escorted cruises.

Weather continues to be choppy, with periodic shudders and slams - they have canceled the song & dance show in favor of a movie showing in the Constellation Theater and have added a Beatles song set after dinner in the Voyager lounge.

Tonight is the "repeaters"party. We are all pretty sure the whole ship are repeaters. We heard an unconfirmed statistic that over 300 passengers are Gold. Hard to imagine 700 passengers mingling and sipping in the Constellation Theater with all the rocking & rolling going on. Tour times tomorrow in Longyearbyen are going to be changed - we were scheduled to "show" for the hike at 7:40 AM so I sure hope they mean the new departure time will be later. Those of us hiking are still a bit curious about the possibility of donning our crampons and hoisting our ice axes...

Longyearbeyn was an interesting stop. It gave new meaning to "Northern Exposure". We docked around 9 am (the locals all told us we were LATE) and departed at 2 pm

Dag says we're heading for the ice cap, and dang if that isn't true! The Magedlena Fjord is a maybe, depending on progress to the ice cap. We're due in around midnight .. but with nonstop sunshine, that means little to us. It's serious nap time before dinner so we can pull an all -dayer (?) or is that an all-nighter(?).

The pooch games were in-tense. Pam was our top Yorkie. The rest of us fought for the doghouse. Saw reindeer up close in person chomping grass like there's no tomorrow.

Cheers, Anne

We are making a run towards the icecap. The ship is making 19.5 knots so we are scooting. I am hoping for 80 degrees north. That would mean that we are within 600 nautical miles of the North Pole!!! As Anne reported, that should occur sometime after midnight.

Great cruise so far (except for one very poor Compass Rose breakfast) so Regent is living up to it's wonderful reputation. More later from the icecap where Jamie has promised to go overboard to get us polar ice for our cocktails.

We had been to Longyearben before so we went shopping with our insurance money. I bought a few things that will be great for ICE. Good artic clothes here, great selection.

Played poker with Tom and Marcie and went out early so then went to the Pooch Games. Played one game and taught a few new players. Love to play the game again I really do enjoy this card game.

Now I am sitting in my cabin and outside is bright sunshine, the water is like glass, snow covered mountains and Ken and I just saw puffins in the water. If it continues likes this all the way to the ice cap we will all forget about yesterdays rough weather.

Today for LUNCH --- lobster tails. I am embarrassed to say how many we ate. The group went to Compass Rose but I like it upstairs better so I can control the type of food Ilke. Glad I did that today so I could have all the lobster tails I wanted. Fantastic.

Tonight it is Signatures, with Leslie, Brad, Tom and Pam. This is a new menu I have not seen before so looking forward to trying this tonight.

Be back later

Even more poochers today - we had 2 tables of 7 players each, with some "observors." Definitely becoming the place to be in the pre-trivia afternoon. Great scenery from the Observation Lounge for the sail-away

We did the Hiking to Plateau Mountain excursion which was up-up-up to the top for a panoramic view - we saw a lone reindeer and a couple grouses enroute. Our guides sported rifles in case we had a close encounter with a polar bear, fortunately not needed. No crampons or ice-axes required either - we had just a short bit of snow crossing which was not very deep. After pausing at the top rock cairn and enjoying the view we made our descent down-down-down. No need for a stairmaster workout today! At the bottom we were treated to a local snack - seal, flatbread, sour cream and blackberry juice. The seal wasn't bad, but one piece was enough.

So, on to the polar ice cap!

Thanks everyone for your reports!

Anne, I think I would not know when to sleep. lol

Ngaire, lobster...yummmmmm! Don't you be embarrassed! As I recall, you did promise to enjoy this cruise for all of us at home. So you HAD to eat all those lobsters. ;)

Sounds as if your pooch game is really catching on. Up to 2 tables!

So glad you are all having so much fun. We are hoping for more photos!!!!
