Just called Karen. They arrived safely and are in their condo. Ellie doing fine. Waiting for the A/C man right now. (They wanted warm weather - today should be 90 & humid!) Karen trying to figure out how to log on. Condo is suppose to have wifi, but it doesn't seem to be working. They are spending the day unpacking and resting. She'll be posting as soon as she can.

I told her she can always come over here & use my desktop. (We are less than 5 miles apart while they rent) But it's not the same as having your own stuff up and running. Robert do you think I'll be seeing her by late this afternoon or can she hold off until tomorrow? :D

I called & only got her voice mail. If you can text her, tell her to go to CompUSA on Westheimer for best advise.
12230 Westheimer Rd. It's west of the Beltway. Since the Beltway is closed both directions by her condo this weekend, she'll get quite an introduction to Houston.
Oh the stories she will be able to tell.
I'm leaving myself for a while. Clay will be here if she gets lost. He can have the wine and the pool ready. :)

Spoke to K again who is still having internet issues. Between the two of us we couldn't figure it out so she is calling in professional help. She says hi to everyone and hopes to have this issue resolved soon!

Here I am!!! After about 100 trips to Office Depot (I wish I would of seen Betty's CompUSA advice earlier, lol) I am up and running!!
Thanks to Robert for giving out updates for me. Now if I can just get used to the laptop instead of a desktop. I know one thing for sure, I need a wireless mouse!

Apples' OS X is very intuitive - as are MACs. There would only have been a slight learning curve. But no hard sell from me - you have already made your pact with the devil. ;)

Karen, sorry you've had pesky computer problems. Vista must be quite the learning experience.
Robert, Alan and I are thinking about switching to MAC's. Our minds are about 98% there - now the wallet has to follow since we're talking about at least one desktop, one laptop and other stuff.

I only use my MacBook when I travel, and have a LOT to learn....heck I can hardly do more than c/p and email on my PC! Marc's mother teaches Mac classes for "adult education", meaning people like me, and taught me a few short cuts for iPhoto in just a few minutes on PANDA at the coffee bar!
