I just had to share this. I had to go buy some new pants this week, because my old ones that I got just a few months ago were falling off. Just for grins, I pulled a size off of the rack that I just knew wouldn't fit, but it was the size I wore just before our son Geof was born. They were three sizes below what I was wearing. I just wanted to see how much further I would have to go to fit into them. Imagine my surprise when they actually fit!!! It has been over 30 years since I was able to fit into that size. I was so excited.

Now 129 lbs lighter, I have dropped 11 pant sizes. The last time I can remember wearing that size was 1975, when Gerald Ford was President and Saturday Night Live had it's premier debut with George Carlin as host. I just wish now, that I had kept that leisure suit and white belt! LOL

In two more pant sizes, I will be down what I was wearing when I was in swimming and water polo back in high school. Well, at least I can hope, but I'm sure the Speedo's are definately out of the question! ;) LOL

Don you continue to amaze me! I hope Diana never has to go away on a trip for a few weeks; she'd come home and would not recognize you from dropping so many pounds and pants sizes! :app:

I was down 1.4 lbs this week!

Don...that is so awesome!! Wow, 11 pants sizes - simply incredible! Since I've always been heavy, it's been amazing to me when I try on a size I never thought I'd buy and it actually fits.

Tonight we went to dinner with my father-in-law and "new mom" (his lady friend) who we haven't seen since January. New mom looked at me and said "you look like you've lost some weight. A lot of weight." It's definitely a great feeling!

Since it's getting chilly around here I tried on my coats the other night - all of them are way too big. I really thought I'd get away with wearing my old wool coat, but there's no way! So, I'm looking for a new coat, and will be donating the old ones to a couple of my favorite charities.

Thank you guys! You are all so precious and encouraging! Y'all have been great!

I am now inching my way closer to goal. Today was my weekly weigh in and I am down another pound this week. Now 130 lbs gone. It is going a little slower now, but that is OK.

Andrea, just think. We are not only helping ourselves by losing the weight, but look at all the others that we are able to help by donating our clothes that no longer fit. I am only keeping one pair of my HUGE pants, just as a reminder!

Wow Don...congratulations! I'm still trying to get to the 100 gone.

You are so right about helping others! I've already donated 3 trash bags of everyday clothes to Boomerang's here in Boston (a charity that supports those with AIDS), along with several work outfits to Dress for Success. The Dress for Success people were pretty happy to see my clothes since they are always in need of larger sizes. I've also started a new bag with clothes I bought between February and June because those are too big now. I'm going to run into trouble though in December for our Sea Dream cruise in December because I don't have any shorts that fit! I do still have the pants and shirt that I wore the day I signed up at Jenny Craig - I really need to take a picture wearing them, because it would be hilarious.

Don and Andrea, you are both amazing.

I discovered a way to loose weight. Go on a landscape photo workshop. Up at 5 am, travel to sunrise shoot, eat half of a South Beach peanut butter bar. Walk a mile or two during shoot. Back to the Super 8 by 11 am. Eat the only meal for the day. Download photos, catch a 30 minute nap. Attend one hour class. Leave by 4 pm for sunset shoot. Walk another mile or two. Back to Super 8 around 8 pm. Download more pics. Too tired to eat. Go to bed. The only problem with this method is after 4 days I am now a Zombie!

I lost 3 to 4 pounds last week at our photo workshop. Alan lost 8 pounds. Now, to keep the momentum going and not gain it back.

Andrea, you will get there soon! I know! Isn't it great! I also know what you mean about the shorts. We are heading to Disney World before Christmas with the kids (28 and 31 year old kids! LOL). I got shorts that were a little too small at the beginning of the summer and they are way too big now, with no shorts to be found anywhere. I thought I would be OK, since the summer was over and now that we are going, I may have to get some new ones when we get there.

I think that the picture wearing your old clothes is a great idea. You have to do it!!! If I put on my old suit, I would look like Tom Hanks in the movie "Big", diverting back at the end to the little kid, but still wearing the "big" suit!

Marcie and Joanna, I promise to get a new picture posted soon of me in my sleeker new duds!

Donna, sounds like quite a workout! Great way to lose weight though! Keep it going!

Well fellow supporters, the weight loss has kicked back into action. I was down 3.6 lbs last week taking me to a new high of 97.3 lbs gone forever!! I WILL get to my goal of losing 100 lbs by the end of the month - even if I have to double down on exercise every day! On Friday morning I took a 1 hour interval running class and in the evening I did an hour on the crosstrainer. I think that definitely helped me lose a lb or so last week.

Donna, you might have found the key to weight loss! I hope you have recovered enough to take care of your new granddaughter.

Don, it's warm in Boston today so I'm wearing shorts that I wore to Italy at the end of August and they are definitely too big. No way am I going to be able to wear them in December.

In coat shopping news, I found a great black dress coat yesterday at Lord & Taylor. I could not believe that I actually bought it in a size...10!!! I almost passed out. I am going to become the poster child for strength training, because there is no way I could have ever fit into it if I didn't strength train!

Andrea, that is fantastic! Great job! I love those weeks, where the weight just kind of pours right off. Isn't it amazing? Lots of work, but oh what a feeling to fit into clothes that you never thought possible! Here is to those 100 lbs being gone and buried forever!

Funny, that you are wearing shorts in Boston and I am wearing one of my new sweaters here in Dallas. High today is in the 50's and will be in the 40's tonight! Brrr!

Today was weigh in for me and I saw the scale move downward as well, by another 2 lbs. So that puts me down 132 and moves me within 14 lbs of going on pre-maintenance. It is amazing to me how much exercise plays into this. I am averaging about 2000 calories per day and yet I am STILL losing! I know now, that once I get to my goal weight, I will be able to keep it off for good. The key will be that I just have to stay active.

I FINALLY made it...I have lost 100.1 lbs!!!
<img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" />

It is unbelievable...never, ever did I think I could accomplish this, but now I know there is nothing I cannot do if I put my mind to it. I started this journey 57 weeks ago, so that averages out to 1.75 lbs per week.

Thank you all so much for your support and sharing this journey with me. I'm still going to need you...I have another 40 to go!!
