Shopping is not bad in Visby - lots of carved horses that is supposedly THE souvenir to buy in Sweden & amber of course. And if you forgot something major - there is a branch of Sweden's major dept store there - small, but has the necessities. No electric rollers after the big roller blow up in Copenhagen - but was able to purchase rollers. Could have bought a curling iron but didn't. Also toiletries & clothes. It's nothing to search out unless you forgot something. The tour desk people know all about it. So yes, you can shop in Visby. I also took a tram ride around the island & saw all the sights that the RSSC tour goes to. The narration is only in Swedish but it was fun & entertaining. Enjoy.
