Nini, it is hard to tell. The past three years crossings have been very smooth sailings from what I have read. Temps from Funchal to Ft Lauderdale should range from the upper 60's to the low 80's. Hope this helps. Looking forward to meeting you on CROSS.

Someone, somewhere in this long thread recounted that the ship takes a southern route and that the crossing that person was on was quite warm. As I recall, she said she had taken sweaters and needed more summer-type clothes. I remember this because I was thinking a November crossing would be cool, and I adjusted my thinking about what clothes I would pack.

I was surprised to learn some time ago, that the weather on last year's crossing at the same time as this years, was very warm to hot in several ports. Of course, weather is so changeable from year to year, day to day. I think planning on layering, as well as bringing shorts and even bathing suits is the way we will most likely go. This way, we're prepared for anything.

I just checked, and for example, for Granada in early Nov. 2006 temps ranged from a high of 72 to a low of 36( probably at night time). Barcelona, from a high of 72 to a low of 50, and Casablanca , from a high of 82 to a low of 60.

I think Denise's advice above is the way to go. Always bring your bathing suit. I used it in the hot tub during my Iceland/ Norway cruise eventhough it was pretty cold! Also, the swimming pool is heated.

Jan and Fred - you are just down the hall from us, so I'm sure we will see plenty of each other coming and going, not to mention LCT gatherings.

Just thinking about all the TAP'rs leaving this weekend makes me even more anxious for CROSS. I still like the idea of sailing home rather than the long flight home. Plus with the time changes we get more time onboard the ship to party all the way! :D

I agree, Don. But I sure wish we were heading out with the Tap folks, they're going to have a great time. My idea of the ideal trip would be to cruise to Europe on Tap, spend the summer touring around, then cruise home on Cross. But with the current exchange rates, you'd have to be Bill Gates to afford it!!! Sigh, if I can only go one way, I'd prefer cruising home. But I wish the Tappers were coming with us.

Our crossing will be here before we know it. In the meantime, there are always those little getaways that make the time pass. We are off to Seattle area in less than two weeks on the little HAL jaunt and a happy visit with some LCT friends where we will have some time to plan some of the shore excursions for CROSS!

Well it would be fun to do what you suggested Peggy - but at least one part of your fantasy is true!!

Agree it will be here before we know it, and we have all that anticipation to go. We too have a couple of interim things going, babysitting our two oldest Granddaughters for 5 days in May while Mom and Dad do a short cruise to Bermuda. The family beach trip to Corolla NC end of June and the Alabama/Vanderbuilt fgotball game in Nashville in Sept. By the time all that is said and done, it will only be a couple fo months away, so sure it will go fast and we will be CROSSing and partying before we know it. :banana: :pass:

Peggy, yes, best would be your Plan A, and next coming from Europe like you are doing! Just didn't work for me with work and balancing timing of cruises.

How I wish, Maria, as you and all the others on CROSS that I know are just the most fun on a cruise! One day we will cruise again. I agree with Peggy, a mesh of TAP and CROSS would be nice, but it just can't be done.

Well Olivia, we are looking forward to cruising with you again on B2B, as we didn't get to spend much time with you on MUSH. So lets definitely plan a glass of wine (or two or three or-----) and dinner if we can work it, depending on how many of your family are coming.

Hi CROSSers. Just thinking of you all. I was dreaming about our cruise today, as the TAPers head away. We're off to northern New Mexico in the morning for 10 days or so, with a side trip to Santa Fe to meet LCT friends -- old friends online, new friends in person! -- which should be a wonderful time!

The months seem to be passing so quickly. CROSS will be here before we know it.

A few mini trips for us in the meantime. Santa Fe next weekend and we can hardly wait! Seems like we've been planning this get-together for such a long time now.

Denise, be sure to have Leslie and Brad teach you to play Pooch so we can play while we're crossing the Atlantic on Cross. I'm sure there will be some Pooch playing on Tap and on Fjords with Ngaire there. We'll teach Don and Michelle in the Bahamas next week and before you know it, everyone will be playing :D

Joanna and Olivia, I wish you could join us in Santa Fe! That would be so wonderful. John and I have arrived in New Mexico already and are at our place in the northern mountains until Friday, when the group gathers in Santa Fe. It will be a great weekend!
