Hi Debbie,It will be nice to meet you in person.
We were on the Singapore to Dubai segment of the 2007 WC and I really enjoyed reading your journals. By the way, it was Ray who was a Beetle in a green wig at the Crew show just before Dubai. Will Bob be with you on this cruise?

We have not been assigned a cabin yet ,probably wont till nearer date, maybe when it is time to pay -up. Will let you know cabin as soon as we can. cheer

Wendy (the other Wendy, not Wendy Wandra) and I are doing our usual wintertime "Navigator" Caribbean cruise, February 4th for 11 nights. As I've said before, it's every Canadian's God-given right, to get out of this country for at least a week every winter.

Itinerary is quite nice, though, and although I've cruised the Caribbean (or vacationed on land there) many, many times, I've never been to St. Kitts or Grand Turk, so at least there's something new!!

Feb 4 - Ft. Lauderdale
Feb 5 - At Sea
Feb 6 - Grand Turk
Feb 7 - San Juan
Feb 8 - St. Thomas
Feb 9 - St. Barts
Feb 10 - St. Maarten
Feb 11 - St. Kitts
Feb 12 - Tortola
Feb 13 - At Sea
Feb 14 - Princess Cays
Feb 15 - Ft. Lauderdale

We felt kind of bad about leaving our husbands for Valentine's Day, until we realized that we cruised without them once before on that day, and they seemed relieved that they didn't have to make a fuss - LOL.

Pat, that sounds like an exotic itinerary.....such unusual ports. You and Ray will have a blast. Happy, upbeat people always do!
Charlene, you are going to a lot of the same places on your Navigator cruise that Al and I are doing in March on the Mariner so I may have questions about some of your shore excursions when you get back.....like Grand Turk. Say hi to (the other) Wendy for me.

I'll definitely say hi to (the other) Wendy for you. That cracks me up, my darling friend being known as "the other". LOL. And I must say hi to Pat and Ray (and Ray and Penny and Penny and Pat.....and a couple of Wendy's....)

I must admit, I may disappoint with any shore excursion reviews.......Wendy and I think of the ship as our destination, and we rarely do shore excursions! But I'll eavesdrop on the others, how's that?

Loonie soaring high, life is good.......

Well the time is getting closer.Christina will be joining the Mariner in Manaus on Feb. 21. But first we will take the RSSC charter from Ft. Lauderdale.
Is anyone else going to do the same? Got info on getting the visa from Jennifer. We need to get a Yellow Fever vaccination :mecry: and $160pp. :mecry:
I asked about the visa early because of our cruise next week, San Diego/ San Diego to Mexico/Sea of Cortez on HAL.So won't be back till late Nov.

Looking forward to getting back on the Mariner !

I just checked our yellow fever card and we had ours done 9 years ago. Think you have to renew every 10 years but will be checking next week. Sorry we will be getting off in Manaus and taking your charter back to Ft.L.
We will try not to clean out all the Grey Goose and Chateau-Neuf -du Pape. cheer

Andrea, I was counting on YOU to keep ME out of trouble! Maybe Michele and Don can chaperone both of us!

I got a few ICE clothing items for Christmas, but still need to order waterproof pants and gloves. Trying to figure out whether to bring my rubber Wellie type boots that don't seem to be insulated.

Olivia, Don and Michele helped keep me in line during FJORDS, so I'm sure they can keep both of us on the straight and narrow!!

LOL...(and Suzanne kept US in line on FJORDS! ) But, no worries, ladies! We WILL make it THIS time & we stand ready for any & all of your rescuing needs...just be sure to sleep in your "base" layer (i.e., Explorer (I)). I'm also bringing my boots...because they fit so well! Waterproof pants & gloves are in the bag.

Are we talking about a penguin style march, ICEEs? How am I supposed to write reports from the front? :D :D cheer

We filled out the rest of our shopping list whilst in Breckenridge. Gary's got the cold weather gear bag all packed up.

This trip is self regulating -- one ride on the zodiac and one's minds will be frightfully clear. Just remember: steer clear of those leopard seals.

Cheers, Anne

We've been there in February - the weather was sunny & pleasant - probably highs in the 60's during the day. Bring layers and you will be fine. Some days can be quite windy. We did a hike in crampons on the glacier which was chilly and required a hat & gloves.

Thank You Leslie,I wondered about layering, was planning on nylon windbreakers with hoods, fleece vest, headband ,scarf and gloves. Wasn't planning on winter boots, just running shoes.
If anything else is needed we can always pick it up.
