Joanna: Clyde's birthday (91) will be August 23rd so we'll miss it on MUSH but there's nothing that says we can't celebrate a little later, right?? But onFjords we'll be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversay on June 30th!!! So finally, we'll have something to celebrate officially.

Donna: I've never said this before but I join all the other LCTers who loved reading your blog. I think it's just fabulous to do such a time-consuming thing just so all of us can cruise vicariously!!

We'll have fun celebrating your wedding anniversary on Fjords. I've always wanted to celebrate a birthday or anniversary on a cruise. So far it hasn't happened. Sure hate to miss seeing the two of you on MUSH. And, Clyde will be 91 - that's awesome!

I signed my parents up for Fjords just yesterday before returning to the UK. My Mom will be celebrating her birthday (81) while aboard the ship and they will be celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary later in the year!

the sad part is that we aren't going to be able to do this, as we have a family beach trip planned for June 30. But the good news is that we are going to book the Dover - Copenhagen trip that is the trip just prior to this, while on MUSH, so maybe we can get together in Copenhagen for dinner on Friday night, when we have an overnight in Copenhagen, just before you'all board, and we disembark!

Oh and by the way, Pam's parents John and Ann are a total hoot, we met them last year on WINE, and had dinner one night with them and Pam and Tom and they are just delightful, and so funny and so adorable!! Just ask them about where they live - they call it "the lock up" and we enjoyed that so much that we told my Dad about that, so we now call his retirement community "the Lock Up"!! thanks to Ann and John!

Sounds fun JoAnn! You will be on with Mike & June Gittings (you'll meet them on MUSH), super nice couple we've gotten to know through WC and SA trip. They're doing B2B starting in Dover like you but staying on for FJORDS. Copenhagen is going to be one jumpin' city when we all hit it!

Jo Ann, my mother is getting on with you in Dover and then staying on for the Norway trip. I already told her we expect an invitation to dinner the night you overnight before we board.

Tom and I hope to arrive on Thursday so we have all day Friday before boarding on Saturday.

Okay, so Marc and Arlene won't be with us peons, he will be eating aboard night before the cruise with his mom. Anyone else coming to CPH the day before. Oh, I haven't made air plans yet. ;)

YES, please. We have never been there, need to maximize our time, we don't get in until 6:30 on Friday night, and disembark the next morning (so you'all can get on - :D :D ) and we plan to stay one extra night, just to see a little of Copenhagen.Need all the help we can get from those who know Copenhagen. So please, any of you that will be there with ideas, and such, we are open to suggestions. We need to get home Sunday, which will give us only 4 full days before we leave for the beach on the 30th (you know, unpack, do laundry, get stuff ready for beach, pack the "kitchen box" make sure we have enough wine, beer, etc for the kids, luckily they bring some too) and be ready to go to Richmond on Friday, so we can get to the Outer Banks early on Saturday. Well you didn't want to know all that anyway!!

Point is, we need to maximize the two nights and one day we have in Copenhagen and meet up with as many people going on FJORDS as possible.

Awful, I feel the need to address ROARII plans 2 years in advance, and I am not ready for cruise in a year away! Haven't a clue when I will get there, so ...

We plan to fly in 2 days early, so that should be the 21st? Rest first day and then explore (or shop) probably shop ;)

Olivia, like you, my thoughts have been on ROAR II. Have no idea if we will come in early. But, since MIL we'll be with us, we do need to come in one day early for her to rest. Don't know if that will allow us a dinner out though.

Editing to say: JoAnn, my FIL called his retirement community "the reservation" and he was happy when they let him out to travel with us!

We will be arriving a few days before FJORDS. I am fairly certain my husband and I will travel in one day prior to my parents. We would probably be up for a dinner, but I suspect that they might eat at the hotel if they are too tired. Lots of time for plans though, and we would love to catch up with JoAnn and Frank again!

This thread just reminded me that we should start looking at flights!! We will definately go in early, once again burn all my vacation time on one trip!!! But it will be worth it.

Just as an FYI, you can now book the Copenhagen Marriott - I looked a week or so ago and it said "no rooms available", ie not yet in the system.

The hotel does sell out so if you're thinking about staying there you might want to hold space now. Rates are high unless you go for the non-refundable rate. We are booked for the night of the 22nd.

We are in the Scandic Webers Copenhagen; near the Mariott and Tivoli Gardens. If you want to take advantage of the low 10,000 Hilton Honor Points rate, you need to book and print certificate prior to 1 October.

It is currently being remodeled; opening on 15 July. Here is the link to the hotel information.

10,000 is dirt cheap for Hilton points. After 1 October it will become a Cat 4 requiring 30,000 points per night.

Marc, this is a good deal. On their website for June '07 dates they're showing NO AVAILABILITY.??

Give them a call; I was able to get in. I don't think I used my Diamond privileges; at least agent didn't say anything about it.

Thanks for the terrific information. I was able to get rooms for both my parents and us for the night prior to Fjords at 10,000 each. I guess you know all Scandic hotels include breakfast :)

Pam, the info has been on FlyerTalk for a while. Also, if you go to the hotel's website or hilton.com, you see that it says under Hilton Honors that it will be a Cat 4 hotel starting 1 October. The Scandics at 10K points only has been a good deal compared to many other hotels and Hilton is finally closing the gap.
