Lots of us have talked about how we miss cruising with CD John Barron. I got an update to share....he'll be on the Mariner March 21-May 16th and on the Navigator June 18-September 20.

Lucky ones who will be on one of these cruises. Now I just hope he'll be CD on Ring of Fire World Cruise in '09 !!!

John is my favorite CD - the folks on his cruises will be in for a treat - Regent has a "gem" in John Barron!!

I would love to be on one of his cruises again. Great news Marcie. Maybe he'll even get to rejoin us on the Navigator in November.

We're thrilled that John (and family?) will be on our March 24 Mariner sailing. We were with him in the Baltics last summer. First class professional.

Agree! John is such a hard working, DELIGHTFUL Cruise Director. I think he would be fantastic on Ring of Fire '09, also!

John is wonderful!! I was so glad to see him on FJORDS last year even if was only for a few days.

Hmmmm...if he's on the Navigator this summer, maybe he'll be there in '09 for Sea 2 Sea. That would be awesome!

Thanks, for the information, Marcie!

Larry and I are delighted that John will be the CD on our March 24th cruise. We have not seen him since SAND. He has so much talent and charisma.

He is by far my favorite CD. His wife is such a charming and talented woman too. They really made MUSH a blast!

Well, this is certainly good news, or great news for those lucky enough to be on the Mariner or Navigator during those time periods.

I've been wondering where John has been hanging out. It seems like RSSC has lost some great staff to Silversea recently. I was hoping that John wasn't one of them! So, goody...

Oh wouldn't that be a shame if he went to SS, won't even think about that ever happening. I know lots who signed up for Ring of Fire next year and we're all hoping John will be CD instead of Barry. Last month on LAMB Barry said he was retiring...

John was on Navigator when we went, last February; I really missed him in November. He's the only CD I ever actually talked to (did talk to Dana a lot on Voyager, but never encountered Jamie); he is so much fun!

I met John for the first time on FJORDS or rather he met me! Walked up to the sistahs at the pool bar and said "Hi Sistahs!" We were surprised and pleased. Would love to sail with him again.

I was just wondering about John the other day. I am glad to know he will be on these cruises. I sure hope to sail with him again as he is a terrific cruise director. He workes so hard to make our cruises enjoyable.

Oh, I'd love to sail with John again, he does such a great job. He would sure add the pizzaz to our SAMBA cruise in November.

Great!!! This means that John, our second favorite CD (Barry H. is our all-time favorite - such a shame he is retiring), will be on CAVIAR - Black Sea in July. He will add a very special element to our enjoyment of that Navigator cruise. We will toast him and his lovely wife and baby with Turkish raki as we depart Istanbul.

Fred - Barry isn't retiring unless something new has happened since LAMB ended. He (Barry) found out about 2 days before the end of LAMB that he had been offered a new contract. I talked to him for only a few minutes our last night out and he didn't say where or which ship he would be assigned to next. Or if he did, I just might have been overserved and can't remember what he said. :D He was very happy about the contract.

John and Lindsey (sp?) were great on MUSH! There were so personable and John is such an easy person to talk to. I'm hoping to have another cruise with him at some point in the future!

As I recall, Barry said he'd be doing one long cruise, such as WC or Asia Pacific, each year.

According to Barry's website http://web.mac.com/barryhopkins/Site_4/Barry_Hopkins_Menu.html he'll be on the full 2008 Grand Asia cruise and stay through the Christmas & New Years cruise on the Mariner.

Interesting update Jim....thanks.
Sounds like we won't get John for SAMBA but hopefully this will open it up for him to do Ring of Fire in Jan '09. Regent doesn't seem to line these type things up much in advance so guess we'll just stay tuned.
