Regent just came out a few weeks ago with a program so groups can make a group booking BUT you will be looking at a SET menu and that would totally ruin the whole Prime 7 dining experience. I strongly advise against doing that. There are also too many of you anyway for that program. That program is not going to work in my opinion and will die a natural death. People do not want a set menu in a speciality restaurant.

So you must all make these bookings independently. You should form up into groups of 4 - 6, you cannot book more than 6 per table online. Then agree on the time to book and then have one person at the table become 'the leader" to reserve the table as soon as the bookings open. Each table leader needs to have the booking number and cabin number for their table mates to reserve on line.

Regent is very strict now and you must give your table companions information at booking or they seat you with strangers. Once a passengers information is entered ONE time they are then blocked from another reservation in that dining room.

So you will be staggered over the night within the intervals the reservations normally are taken.

Some planning is required here past "count me in" so thought I would pop in and mention this to everyone. No one person can control this for everyone else and the only way to make this work is as I outlined above.

Even if I was on this ship and trying to do this for you there is no way I could handle a group this size, all on a specific night without a set menu. I talked to one of the General Managers about dining reservations and I cannot email FLL or the ships with any kind of request anymore they are working STRICTLY by the on line system in an effort to be fair to everyone.

So if you REALLY want this to happen get your table mates set - so one person has all the information necessary to book on line for that specific table. Only possible way this can be accomplished.

Good information Ngaire. How do they work the tables for 8, or is 6 the largest table in Prime 7? Do we know the date yet when this will open up?

Karen - I would be happy to volunteer as a "table leader" I can do us, Tom, Mona, Dick Nancy at our table (hope that's ok Tom).

Maximum of 6 at a table on line bookings. There is just one table of 8 but you cannot reserve that on line.

On line dining reservations open approximately 75 days before the cruise embarkation date.

Online dining reservations should open at midnight on October 21, 2010 for those in the eastern time zone. Reservations will be available on October 20, 2010 at 9, 10 or 11 pm respectively for those in the pacific, mountain and central time zones.

Joan and I are sorry we can't join everyone on this cruise. It sounds like a lot of fun. We'll be coming off the Mariner on Jan 4th after cruising from Cape Town. Since we'll have been traveling for six weeks, we couldn't stretch our schedules any further to add an additional week.

If I remember correctly, they won't allow reservations for all tables online; some are kept in reserve. As we are well over 40 people, I wonder if we have any chance in reserving that many tables. If we had some titanium or platinum members which didn't show up on a booking already, they might be best able to get additional tables once we board. OR, has the whole system of priority dining reservations gone away?

My idea seemed like a good one at the time, lol. I knew we had to name our dinner partners but I didn't know we needed booking #s too! I also forgot about staggering the time, do you think we have bit off more than we can chew?

Marc is right they wont reserve all the tables on line so the early birds who get to the internet first can get however many reservations they allow and the rest can have a back up plan for night number TWO if the reservations are full.

There is no way for any one person to co-ordinate this it has be to done individually I was just concerned people were saying "put us on the list" and there can be no list and it must be handled individually.

I think it is fine to make an attempt to have as many of you as you can on one night but you will be staggered with some very early and some very late dinner times.

Maybe it would be better to plan a group dinner in Compass Rose. We couldn't all be at one table, but they'd likely be willing to put us all in one section. But if we're going to stick with Prime 7, would someone be willing to include us in their reservation? We'll be on the Voyager in the Med at the time the reservations online come up.

If they didn't, with 24 - 48 hours notice, arrange a section in Compass Rose for us I would be very surprised and very disappointed and see it as a sign of declining customer service. In fact, if Martin were still there, I am sure he would put us together but in adjoing waiter stations so that we didn't slam one or two waiters.

This can be arranged in the Compass Rose it is just the speciality restaurants that are an issue and that is understandable.

Maybe we should switch to Compass Rose on the sea day and just do Prime 7 on our own?

Pat and I are interested in joining others in Prime 7 as well as in other venues, but I don't really understand about the Platinum priority business or process (we have well over 200 days). No one gave us priority on our last cruise, the Ft. Lauderdale to Reykjavik President's cruise on Voyager this past May, except that we were in a Penthouse and our butler did get us a last-minute change of nights in Prime 7 when we got an invite to dine with the captain that same night, just one day in advance. We did get two reservations in Prime 7 on the 14 day cruise, but so did lots of others, including at least one couple were not members of the Seven Seas Society - it was their first RSSC cruise. And we made our reservations about 2:30 PM on the cruise's embarkation day!
