I just talked to our friends Marc & Harry from the WC and they told me about a remedy for sea sickness. At first I thought they were pulling my leg but they swear that this actually works great for about 75% of the people. Here's what you do..........
you put a non-coated asprin in your belly button and tape a band-aid over it to keep it in place (or use 2 band-aids and do a criss cross). Somehow another this transcends and prevents sea sickness. NO JOKE! Maybe it psychological? Has anyone ever heard of this?

I'm not prone to sea sickness but this could come in handy for those that are.

By the time you get through with the cost of the band aids and aspirin, you might as well cough up the $4 wrist bands from the drug store. But, someone has got to try this and let us know if it works! Happy T Day.

Ew, I don't know if I would want an aspirin in my belly button!! This reminds me of some guy I know who was trying to quit smoking. Instead of using those nicotine patches, he taped a cigarette to his arm.

I guess this remedy is for real. I just read the following:

Quote
Ingredients: Band-Aid
Aspirin
Instructions: A cure that I've was told for motion sickness is to put an Aspirin in your belly button and then place a Band-Aid (adhesive bandage) over it to hold it in.I realize this may sound strange, but my great aunt swears by it. I am one of those people who get motion sickenss sitting on a porch swing, so you can imagine how it is in a car/plane/boat. My normal treatment is to take Dramamine then sleep during the trip.

Well, on a recent 12 hour car trip, I decided to try my aunt's method. I sat in the back of a hot pickup and didn't get sick the entire time. Usually the only way I avoid getting sick in the car is to drive the whole way or as I said, use Dramamine. Try it. it may just work for you.

But, what if you have an outty??? Or, worse yet, you have a belly button that is as cavernous as the Grand Canyon???

I will certainly give it a try!! I have tried everything known to man. The way I look at it, it can't hurt. I got sea sick feeling yesterday trying to adjust my new desk chair. Really!!!! I will copy the info and put it with my cruise stuff (along with the Bonine, sea bands, Relief band, alchol swabs, ginger and everything else I have in my bag of tricks.) Thanks Marcie

And what if you are allergic to aspirin? Doesn't some of it soak in through the skin?

Just a rhetorical question, we don't get seasick.

The Relief Band has been a miracle worker for me. I purchased two before our first cruise in 2003. During that cruise to Hawaii, the first day we stayed at sea due to a hurricane/tropical depression. Needless to say, my Relief Band came in handy and I was never once sick on this voyage. However, there were plenty of passengers in their cabins. Another note, I am VERY prone to motion sickness, always took dramamine on flights. Now, I just strap on the Relief Band and arrive at my destination without feeling tired and drugged from pills. I certainly hope this works for you. PS Purchase extra batteries before your trip....they are an unusual kind that I get at Radio Shack.
Cheers, Pam
