Denise and Joanna, thanks for the warm welcome back. We got back late Friday, and I have been catching up on LCT and doing some posting.

I will try to give my trip report in the next couple of days but can't get the photos up yet.

Briefly, we had a wonderful cruise!!!

Nancy

Here's my "official" report:

The trip was great!

The ports were: Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Saint John, NB, Bar Harbor, Boston and Newport. We were able to see some wonderful fall foliage, the colors had justed peaked. Overall our shore excursions were good to excellent. The trip was 11 days with 3 sea days.

Overall, with the exception of Quebec City we had fairly nice weather ranging from the 50's to the 60's and a few sunny days. It was cold, windy and in the 40's in Quebec City but that didn't stop us! We especially enjoyed our time in Bar Harbor and Newport.

The service, food...etc was as good as ever on the Symphony. I know that assigned seating would be a negative if I had only sailed on Regent but we seemed to have lucked out again. We had a table for 8 and one of the couples was on our Alaskan cruise last year. WE had prearranged to sit together again. The other 2 couples were the best. One is from Beverly Hills and the other from Sydney Austrailia. We typically were the last people out of the dining room. The service we received in the dining room was the best ever. WE also ate in the specialty restaurants and they were excellent. We had 3 sea days and there was always something interesting going on, particularly the lecturers. Even though the ship is having an extensive drydock at the end of the month, $23 Million, the ship looked great!

The only negative was that the internet access was very, very slow. I can't wait for our next cruise...not until August 31st!

Everyone, thanks for the warm welcome home!

Nancy,
I enjoyed your review! I am so happy that you and Larry had such a good cruise, and that the weather was nice, for the most part. When we did that cruise on the Navigator, it was nasty in Bar Harbor, and we were too early for the full leaves change. :(
Like I said, "We'll just have to go back".
cheer

Betty, one of the best days we had on the cruise was in Bar Harbor. The temperature was in the high 50's/low 60's and sunny with beautiful fall colors.

Very good review, Nancy! This is a cruise itinerary we hope to do one day. Several years ago we took a Tauck New England tour and loved it! Nothing like the Fall in New England!

Looking forward to your photos!

Hi Nancy and Larry, welcome back. We're glad the bomb scare in Canada proved to be a false alarm. See you again when you are in Palm Beach County. We'll be on Symphony Dec 6-21 (Panama Canal) and April 17-30 (Asia) . Can't wait to see all the refurbished staterooms and Starlite Lounge. 2008 itineraries should be out while we are on the ship. Judith (and Larry)

Hi Judith. Sure wish we were cruising with you and Larry in December. I can't wait to see all the refurbishments, particularly the staterooms. It would be great to sail together in 08. I'll let you know when we plan on seeing my dad again.
