I hope at least one of the events will, Kathy! We did a webcam thing a LONG time ago, on Cruise Critic from a restaurant in the Chilean Fjords with Ngaire back in 2003 before the birth of lct! These days, I can't imagine that CC would allow such a thing, but it was a different day. That was one of the most fun days I ever had on a cruise! The family that owned that restaurant had a son who was into computers, had the webcam, and we just came and enjoyed. He took care of the rest! They even brought in a local entertainer for us to add to the event of a "lunch". First time I think Ngaire ever "ate" off the ship!

I can bring my laptop and anyone who uses AIM instant messanger and who is on my buddy list will be able to see us from my webcam on the laptop.

Olivia - I remember watching that. You all held up a Happy B'Day sign for Karen. And the local newspaper even wrote a story about it. I think that owner was a registered CC or LCT user at the time. But sure don't remember his name.

Tom ...we have the Starwood credit card and all our points go into one account BUT I also have my own Starwood credit card (rarely use it) so if I need f.f. miles in MY account we can transfer from our "joint" account...into "my Starwood account" ...and from there into my f.f. miles account. That's the only reason I have my own Starwood c.c.

I just registered our Starwood account, but when I clicked on the participating hotels list, ALOFT Plano isn't on it, so I guess our stay for HODOWN will not qualify. Bummer!

I would have sworn our hotel was on that list when Peter first posted the list; there were two ALOFT's in Dallas listed at that point.

Just looked at the list again and the aloft Plano isn't on (I swear it was - maybe I'm going senile) but the aloft Frisco is.

Starwood has promised other promotions for this period of time (Q3) that might include this property. I'll post if I see it.

Hello, June here, just saying hello from Dallas while visiting Ngaire for a few days in between visiting family in Canada and California. It is fun to reminisce with Ngaire about various experiences I have enjoyed with those of you whose company I have had the pleasure of sharing, on cruises, ROAR and kiwi land. I have just received my copy of the ROAR ll book which brings back a lot of wonderful memories of both Kings Camp and Madikwe Hills, experiences I hope to repeat in future years. I wish I could be here on November 14th to see those I know and meet many of the people I have heard about.

As a proud member of the Commonwealth I would like to remind you all as this is an auspicious date as this is Bonnie Prince Charlie's birthday and I am sure Camilla is throwing him a party that wont compare to HODOWN.
