No no Joanna, they are great for shoes, as Marcie said, but you could put cosmetics in them, or uuuummmmm, other thingies. LOL. They really are perfect for shoes. :ohmy: :D

I have umpteen cosmetic/jewelry holders - I am a TJ/Marshalls junkie for that stuff but the shoe idea is brilliant ...still bring the Martha Stewart clear shoe bag for over a door for tons of misc stuff (14 days or longer) - so easy to see items

We got great Delta/Air France connections so we will be in time for the dinner in Athens; see everyone then!!!!

We're not home -- off on an adventure with the grandkids. As Peggy and Jerry call it, "Camp Grandma".

However, I have an email from the concierge that we received a FedEx package at 8:59 this morning. I'm choosing to believe it's our docs!

This is the longest EVER since we've been on a Regent ship -- FLL to London was cancelled, and Antarctica really isn't the same. I can't even begin to say how much I'm anticipating this trip!

As to the doc bags .... On the WC I became addicted to Mexican Train dominoes. A group of up to 16 of us played for hours every sea-day afternoon, and often on non-sea-days. Since then we've recruited many others. The doc bag is the perfect size to hold a double-12 (or even a double-15) set of dominoes. In Florida we often play with several couples we met on the 2007 WC, so the bag from that trip is especially apt.

We won't be in Athens in time for the dinner, but we'll see you all the next day --

I see our air (booked through Regent) just got ticketed today, so perhaps that is done at the same time the docs are printed & sent? So maybe we'll get them within the next few days, is my guess.

Yes that is probably the issue Kristin, they send everything at once and so yours got held up for the airline ticketing. Bet you get them tomorrow or the next day.

Marc - you were always on the dinner list, once you said you would be flying from the US, not to worry. Where are you staying?

We're still waiting---and waiting... I hope Mr. Fed Ex or Mr. Regent holds on to the docs a few more days. We leave in the morning for a long weekend in San Antonio and nobody will be here to get them if they come tomorrow or Monday. Our air is through Regent also, but it was ticketed a long time ago. Maybe they're delayed because we're staying on for the segment after TUT???

Oh that just makes me green, Peggy. Didn't realize you and Jerry were staying on.

No doc dancing here either but assume that our Seine River Cruise to the Normandy Beaches immediately following TUT is responsible.

We'll we kicking up our heels soon, I'm sure.

I am happy with the later departure!! JoAnn I would like to get into Athens Oct 1 vs 2 as I have GB on hold for two nights - needless to say, it will take some stamina on my part (which I do have right now) to deal with Delta AGAIN - as of last night nothing available Sept 30 for arrival Oct 1 -

Sorry misunderstood what you were saying. After re reading your post, now realize you were hoping for a departure of Sep 30, not arrival in Athens. Good luck, hope it works out.
I'm sure the later departure is definitely easier on your sleep.

I had a call from AA last week (or the week before - don't remember). We were to fly Iberia from VCE to MAD on the 17th departing at 7:35 am, and then on to BOS. However, due to a schedule change Iberia won't be flying to BOS on Sundays, so now we don't leave VCE until 2:30 on BA through LHR. It's better that we don't have to leave the ship at 5:00 anymore but we don't get home until 9:00 pm. I guess that means I just need to take the Monday off from work too :D

Well we don't get home until 9:00 coming back either, and we have to fly MAD - ORD - DCA, but I figure thats not really too bad. Just walk in the door, drop the bags and fall into bed. Deal with everything else next day. :D But the two nights in Madrid will be a nice relaxing way to come down after the cruise.

Well I get in at midnight so 1 am by time we get home - and Tony never one to just go to bed - walk around house and find all the things house sitter (doesn't stay here) did wrong :eek: :eek: :eek: BUT not having to get up at 4 am to get to VCE airport is a blessing!

OK, OK....ya'll are making me jealous. We still depart Venice on KLM at 7:05am (O DARK HUNDRED). However, we only have one stop in Amsterdam and arrive DFW at 1:40pm. So we'll have the whole afternoon and evening to unpack, do laundry and make our long absence up to our four precious pooches. And our wonderful dog sitter makes detailed notes about the happenings of each day so I can read those over.

Can you guys tell I'm trying to talk myself into "the early flight is not so bad"??? LOL
