Joanna: They are really beautiful.. There are awards are bad enough.. there 3 tier system is a joke... I believe this week they eliminated award fees, but I thought that was only for Diamond and Plat members... but maybe thats just change fees only...
They still have a lot of work to do to revamp there system..

Does anyone know what kind of currency we will need in Egypt, Israel and places like Limasol? Can we use euros? What about at places like the pyramids for going into the tombs (not me!!!) or the solar boat or things like that?
Some of these Countries are new to us, so any experienced help will be appreciated. :)

Yes Frank I got their email about all the new wonderful things they are doing - we are lowly gold so no perks for us just higher fees for redepositing and rebooking

Kathy - are you coming into Athens early? If you are going to be there on Saturday, would you like to join the group dinner? Just let me know so I can have Spiros increse the reservation. Also, if you would like be part of the group transfer on Sunday let me know.

JoAnn we hadn't even thought about getting to Athens early until we read everyone's posts...we'll call B & K tomorrow and see what we can do. It would be nice to see a little of Athens and catch up on the jet-lag before the cruise.

Not to worry, I'm sure Steve and Kathy can keep up--we had a great time with them when we sailed from Auckland to Los Angeles last fall. Not so sure about me and Jerry, though. I don't know if we'll hold up with all those port days--we may have to turn some of them into sea days to rest up. The problem is--all the ports are great, so which ones do you pick to miss??????

We're already planning to "take it easy" on certain port days...it becomes all too exhausting. I agree, Priscilla, what a problem to have! ;)
Now Peggy, if I remember correctly, you & Jerry are on for the following leg as well...so you can "rest up" on the way back to Athens, right?

The problem is, there's good ports on that cruise also. One good thing is that a couple of the ports are repeats (Dubrovnik, Kusadasi)--but I like both of those ports and could visit over and over. Problems, problems :(

Funny you should say that, Joanna! We are a fixture at the pool bar when we are on the ship after visiting port (or skipping altogether). There's something about being outdoors and having the (almost) panoramic view of the port around you. Can this cruise get here soon enough????!!!!

Ahh the pool bar, Frank's favorite all time spot on any cruise. We will be there too Kristin and Joanna. On some days we just booked a short 1/2 day excursion, others none at all and may not, might just wander around on our own and head back to the ship and pool bar!! LOL. See you guys there.

Huge thanks to all for welcoming us to this fabulous group!
Steve and I are excited and can't wait for the trip to begin!!
We've been on the Mariner three times and loved that ship. Hoping the Voyager will be as nice. Our favorite bar.....besides the pool bar.....was the Horizon bar.
Steve likes to hang out in the Connoisseur Club and the Horizon bar was just outside. It's gonna be great getting to find our way around a "new" ship!!!

We love the Horizon lounge, too, but I have to say our favorite evening bar is the Observation Lounge. I have SO missed having one of those on the other ships we've sailed. And now there's Prime 7........
Oh, this cruise is going to be so amazing for so many different reasons!

Oh my the pool bar, on Fjords I think our name was engraved on the stools, and it was less than 50 degrees F most days! We Love the pool bar! I can't recall the name of the lobby bar on the Navigator, but we all made a great showing! J remember?

That was Ricky, from Darwin, Australia. He's had several promotions since Samba. He was the assistant F&B director on the Mariner for the South America cruise. Not sure if he's still on the Mariner, or if he's gone back to the Navigator with Florian.

We loved Ricky too! When we met him, he had just gotten back from some time off and had just been promoted to bar manager, so he wasn't pouring drinks but was always making sure everything was ship-shape at the bars. He was a delight to talk to. I wonder who'll be on TUT pouring our libations? Someone ought to warn them about us! :D
