Greetings!
This was started in the middle of last year, but things change so I want to start a new roll call for PUBS to see who's still in and who has joined up!
We are very excited about our adventures this year and are happy to be travelling with such lovely folks as you LCTer's.
On with the show!
Ashlyn and Keith - 646 (Ashlyn celebrating 39th birthday on 6 September :app: )
Any one else? Bueller...? Bueller...?
Cheers! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" /> Ash

Carol and Ralph Webster -830. We are continuing on from Dover to Monte Carlo also. Have friends joining us at Dover. We have decided to go with the Regent CPH hotel. Ngaire tells me it is a Marriott not far from city center. We arrive late on 8/29. Will be in CPH for two days before going on board.

Debbie and her husband Russell from my office are coming also so those of you who did not meet her on PARTY or MUSH will get to meet her on PUBS. She is the one who contacts you when the tickets are in - she is very popular!!!

My husband Paul and I are on this cruise. We are in 645, right across from you Ashlyn and Keith. What is funny is my birthday is also Sept. 6! :D Unfortunately I am not going to be 39. It will be the 16th anniversary of my 39th birthday :p Anyhow, it will be fun to meet everyone. Susan

Susan - How wonderful to hear that we are neighbors! That will make our block party all the more fun (if Regent still does it. We haven't been able to cruise for a year) No matter - you and I shall have a brilliant dual birthday!
Can't wait to meet the rest of the gang - Ngaire, Paul, Carol and Ralph, Debbie and Russ, Joe and Marilyn and Shirley!
Arlene - we will certainly miss meeting you and Gil, but look forward to swapping comments about our respective trips afterwards!
5 months and some days out is a much more exciting feeling than the year+ wait was when we booked this trip! I'm doing so much research and planning because pre-trip prep is nearly as exciting for me as being on the trip.
Any single malt Scotch drinkers among ye? I may need help rolling Keith back to the ship after distillery tours. Ha Ha

I believe they are still doing block parties. Should be fun. I agree that the planning and anticipation is ALMOST as much fun as the cruise Susan

John and I are also booked on PUBS. Cabin 747, We are going to Berlin for a pre-cruise and staying in London 6 nights post. Looking forward to meeting all of you. We know Ngaire and Ken and also Gil from another cruise. We will be celebrating John's big 60!! It is really Aug. 28th. We both still work full time and I have yet to ask for the 3 weeks off. Can't do it till 90 days before. Yikes, if they don't approve it; I will jump overboard on the nearest ship. Oh, can't do that; we live in Las Vegas. Judy

Mark & I are on PUBS - no pre-cruise in Copenhagen but spending 3 nights in London afterwards. No cabin assignment yet since we're on a category G guarantee.

Greetings PUB-ers!
Just in case you weren't aware, we can register our excursion choices for the cruise starting this Friday, 4 May!!!
Keith and I have been on just 4 cruises with Regent so far and have not been disappointed with the pre-registration process yet. It's a great way to secure excursions and, for us, to plan the budget ahead of time. Since Regent has gone open bar, our only expenses now are the excursions.
I continue to let the excitement build and am looking forward to sharing the adventure with you all!
Cheers! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" /> Ashlyn

We have a few obsticles in way of this trip. I hope we will make it on this cruise because we need some R&R. My Dad had a stroke and I have to make sure he will be taken care of for the time we are gone. He lives with my 80 year old Aunt (she is in good shape). He is very dependent on me for doctors visits, rehab visits, keeping his meds in order. Plus we have 3 Bichon dogs that we have to find a dog/house sitter for. We will be celebrating John's 60th birthday on this trip. Monday I have a heart stress test. It is hard to get excited about this trip when I feel so much guilt about leaving. I think of the British Isles and really do want to see them. This is our 3rd trip on Regent. Never been disappointed. It also sounds like a nice group going. I will keep my fingers crossed! Judy

Judy,
Keith and I are thinking good thoughts for you and your loved ones. We hope things work out for you to be able to take the trip guilt-free.
Susan,
I saw that Britannia excursion too and thought, "now why would anyone pay that much when we can just stay on our own private yacht and get the same wonderful quality of food?" Besides that, if Robert Irvine isn't doing the cooking anymore, I see no need to sample. Love his food network show "Dinner: Impossible".
If it's the "boat" people want to see, there's an informative travel channel show about it that will certainly make the rounds again. Ha Ha
So far, we've made some nice choices, but I'm really looking forward to Dunrobin Castle. It's Clan Sutherland's ancestral home - still occupied by the Countess of Sutherland - and I happen to be a Sutherland on my mother's side. Go figure - a Sutherland by birth, a Duncan by marriage. Got my clans to choose from, eh?
Cheers! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" /> Ashlyn

OK, add Doug&Lynn Burns in stateroom 825. We'll probably be doing a 2 night pre-cruise at the St. Petri in CPH and a 2 night post-cruise at the Goring in London. Not firm on those yet.

You can also add Warren&Judy Waite. They were on the 2006 SA cruise from BA-Lima. Warren is a great joke teller and he and Judy are really nice folks.

Just got our Regent air from B&K. PHX-IAD-CPH. United to Dulles and SAS to CPH. Leave PHX in the AM on 29 Aug and arrive CPH in the early AM on the 30th. Coming home on Sep 14 we're out of London Gatwick(LGW) to Detroit(DTW) and then to PHX, all on Northwest. 17 hours total trip time from home-CPH and 18 coming home.

John and I will be going on PUBS. My Dad passed away on May 19th. We got a house/dog sitter lined up. Two weeks after my Dad passed away I broke my ankle. So these last few weeks have been a very sad time for us. However, the heart stress test was A O.K. I hope I will be be more cheerful by 9/1/07 and we get to enjoy our cruise and London stay after. Is it a good idea to book the excursions now or wait until we get onboard? Judy & John

Hi Judy,
I am so sorry about your dad, Please accept my condolences. I also broke my ankle a few years ago and I know how slow the recovery can be. How has it been for you? Hopefully by 9/1 you'll be all set to dance!

Hi Judy,
It's been so long since you posted/communicated.
Hugs to you, my friend. Hope you received my emails and condolence card. As you know, Alan and I were so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. We knew of his failing health from your emails.
Hope your ankle is on the mend. Remember when we cruised VOF with you and John and I was nursing torn ligaments in my right ankle? Despite the pain, I hobbled along and didn't miss a beat. You will do the same.
Take care.
Denise
Retired and loving it!

Thanks Denise for all your kind encouragement. You are a good friend. I am doing ok. Still walking in a boot but am working Triage only, so not much walking. Just got out of the pool and feel better getting some sun. I am concerned about our pre-cruise in Berlin. Any suggestions will be appreciated. When Regent flies us from Berlin to Copenhagen (SAS) their luggage weight is only 44 lbs. per person. We will be gone a month and 44 lbs isn't much. We will have to bring clothes for cooler weather and perhaps rainy,as well as formal clothes too. Not going to happen with the 44 lb limit. Delta will allow 70 lbs. 2 bags each person flying to Berlin. This same thing happened when we did the pre-cruise Moscow and flew SAS to Stockholm. However, Radisson did reimburse us for the extra weight. Wondering if Regent will as well. I called Julie today and am waitiing to hear back. Otherwise we will be wearing the same clothes and using the laundry alot! Judy

Judy - I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. The pool will certainly help with mending your ankle, but it sure can be slow! Having a cruise planned, for me anyway, sometimes has been just the motivator to get me through a rough patch.
booking excursions .. if there's anything you really want to do, book ahead. Print out a copy of what you booked & keep it with your invoice so you can refer back to it. Should you change your mind, cancel when you board. JMHO.
Hugs, Anne

Just bumping this back to the top. Warren&Judy Waite, who start their cruise with the Stockholm-Copenhagen run( 24 Aug departure ), have their docs. Julie at B&K says ours should be in this week, or early next week.

Hi all! Haven't checked here in awhile, but we are now getting excited about this cruise. Finally signed up for our excursions. Usually I do that much sooner, but didn't manage to this time. Hopefully the ones we want are still available. Looking forward to seeing old friends, and meeting those of you who will be new friends! Susan

We're doc dancin'. Much to my surprise the FEDEX guy just showed up with our docs. Normally, we get an e-mail from B&K telling us when the docs will arrive so that we can have someone at home to receive them. Not so this time. Just glad I was here.

Doug, I'm glad you were there to receive them! I would bet that if my experiences lately with airlines are common, BK is dealing with them. The airlines are a mess.

We got ours also last week. B & K did e-mail us before and said to expect them within 3 days. They came on the 2nd day via FEDEX. Will start packing soon. We leave Aug. 27th for Berlin. Judy

Dont know why you did not get an email Doug. They have such a "system" for all of this. No one is here today to ask.
Wednesday, September 5 is the scheduled date for the B&K cocktail party in La Verandah with a private dinner following in La Verandah. It is a country club casual night with no other special functions and we sail at 6.00 pm so that should work out fine. Invitations will come to your staterooms.
I also think we should have a get together to meet on the first night, Saturday September 1. We sail at 5.00 pm and there will be a lifeboat drill probably before 5.00 pm and a sail away party on the deck at about 5.00 pm. Lets say in the Voyager Lounge at around 5.30 pm - 6.30 pm. If you prefer to stay at the sail away that is fine and you can come late that is no problem. Just think it best to do it before the lounge fills up so we can "find" each other. Then we still have time to change before dinner. Many will have just flown in that day (yours truly) so may want an early dinner.
Will post this as a new topic as well so it is not missed.
