What a pretty sailout, just watched y'all go under the bridge. Much prettier than the Queen Mary! :)

What a fun way to spend a day in New York! Our morning was a delight. Sadly, we did not have the foliage that you Canada folks saw in the drier parts of your earlier travels. But, there was a bit of color. It was such fun to sit out by the pool deck and just grow the circle of friends around it by pulling in chairs. Our six-top quickly held more than twice that! And the time just flew by! Before we knew it it was time to head up for TRIVIA (aka BloodSport). I was warned to arrive early as it fills up faster than anyone could expect. Alas, although the questions began at the stroke of 4:30, after the second question, Ray (aka The Puppet Master) announced that all guests had to leave. So, although I had promised the high bidder for my humble trivia services a minimum of two correct answers or her money back. I was able to deliver merely one correct answer to Peggy and her team. Since I was paid in the currency of hugs, smiles and good friends, I shall gladly return the hugs and smiles the next time we are together. The good friends, I shall keep. (I can only hope that the team won by one point!)
Miss you all. What a fun day!
Doug

how great of Tom to post pictures from today. it was a perfect sunny fall day in the city! Some of us who didn't get to see ABC did the "land and sea" tour, which was a bus drive by for lazy folks, and a ferry ride which took us under the Brooklyn Bridge, and back around to see the lower Manhattan area and the skyline that is developing around the WTC, and of course, Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, etc. And then, we get back on the ship and get to see Marcie and Tom's relatives, and Andi and Doug!
Unfortunately, I can't pass any pictures along because I left my iPad somewhere on this ship a couple of days ago, and it has not turned up. It was like my security blanket, because on this cruise, signal is great so i took it everywhere. I need to learn to be more careful with "my stuff". But my black pashmina left in Stars the other night was in a nice baggie at reception last night.
Sailaway early this evening was fun. We were all out on our balconies, and some of the lct people were snapping pix of each other from above and below. A real treat to sail by the Statue of Liberty at sunset.

Such a fun day yesterday visiting with family and friends and such a gorgeous day. It was great seeing Andi & Doug too. Tomorrow we get to see Kimmi & John and they're staying on for dinner since we sail late.
Last night we had yummy lobster tails in Prime 7 with retired Ranger hockey player and wife. Cute, he wore his navy blue Hall of Fame sports coat. Tonight dinner with Betty & Larry and Dave & Joan (DaveFR)in CR.
I think this has been one of very favorite cruises some of the BEST food and service on any cruise....a great itinerary and remarkable people.

Joanna, I caught myself looking for you and Tony as I was walking past the pool bar this morning. Took me a second to remember you weren't on board. I sure miss your smiling faces.
Such fun to see Andi and Doug yesterday. A quick little "catch up" until we see them on Zodiac. It is so special when we are able to have LCTers come on board for a while while the ship is passing through. Can't wait to see John and Kimmi next!
Just got finished playing pooch and now off to trivia. A rough sea day today, but nice to be able to just spend time with friends. We have Prime 7 tonight with Don and Carolyn and their friends, so I know it will be wonderful as always.

Since we've been away, I'm just now catching up with the CANADA reports and pictures. Sounds like a really wonderful cruise, despite some weather glitches. We land-bound types sure do wish we were there!

So funny. I went past the Navigator on Sunday after we disembarked from the Queen Mary. We spent the night in Southampton before we boarded at the new Premier Inn Westquay in Southampton - very inexpensive and clean and close to the port. The previous couple of days we spent in Winchester (stayed at the Mercure Wessex, would stay there again). Loved Winchester! So cute and walkable. Have fun y'all!

Charleston looks beautiful. Northern Lights were seen in Tulsa last evening for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately I missed them, but heard they were impressive.

We had a great day in Charleston yesterday, and anticipate another one today. What a surprize to see Tony, Joanna and the Kimmi's when we returned to the ship yesterday afternoon and how much fun it was. Weather is warm and sunny, finally.
New York was so fun. Our group of six took a Foods of New York walking tour of Greenwich village and it was such a fun and differeent way to spend time. Thanks to Andi for her recommendation. And then we enjoyed spending time with Doug and Andi once back onboard, Andi was on our trivia team, but alas she had to leave after only a couple of questions. We also enjoyed meeting TomG's Sister and niece who also had come onboard for the day.
One more day in Charleston and then our last day at sea before arriving in Florida on Friday and back home.
Today our plans are shopping and lunch at Magnolia's. Yesterday we ate at Fleet's Landing and then had dinner at Hank's Seafood. Fried everything, but oh sooooo good.

I have never been so surprised in my life...Tom and I had NO IDEA Joanna & Tony were coming to Charleston. We were so excited to see Kimmi & John and then when we walked in a restaurant for lunch only to find Tony & Joanna...first I screamed, then I cried. Last night we had great dinner on board with Kimmi's, Mondaes, Ngaire & Ken and Olivia. There were lots of photos taken in Stars Lounge so will be sharing. I understand this has been in the works for a long time...Hats off to Joanna, Olivia, BettyK & Kimmi for planning all of this!! It's another glorious day here in Charleston. Just can't believe this fantastic cruise is almost over. It sure has been fun. We had such a wonderful time w/the LCT crew yesterday!! It was a bitter sweet time because I never want to leave when we go onboard for a visit :( I am thankful that my home state and this beautiful city provided two sun-shiny days for everyone. We didn't get to spend enough time w/some of you though....I spoke to Marc/Arlene for two seconds :( Dinner was full of laughs, as always...w/Ngaire/Ken, Mondaes, Matassa's & Olivia (O-I'm still upset we aren't staying to continue our investigation  ) As far as the surprise, Karen, you would have been proud. Monday we spent the afternoon/evening w/the Mondae's and I think we changed the plans 50 times :D And when I met up w/Marcie & Tom, it was a little confusing....but we got them there and sweet Marcie cried....we def got over on her!!! Thanks for making it all happen Ngaire...and Marcie.....Love you all....I think more than you know

We are home after 3 great days in C - weather so nice and such an interesting city we have been few times and never tire of it - Regent got 2 days in C and missed Savannah due to cargo ship there but 2 days in C better I think - we had dinner at Magnolia's Monday night with John and Kimmi - met in our room at Vendue Inn for drinks (nice room with fireplace) went to Kimmi's to see their house and drink more wine - what a house they have on the Battery - 2 story OLD with two verandas filled with charm I loved it!! Water views from most rooms it is SWEET!!! then I think we went to top of roof top bar at Vendue and then to Magnolia's (A plus) etc etc - FUN! We were in communication with Kimmi about Matassas Tues morning - Kimmi texted "the eagle has landed" and about noon they appeared at roof top bar we were waiting with Larry and Betty - Marcie shed a tear or two Tom sobbed *...onto the ship for lunch and connecting with folks then off to change and rest and back on for dinner - plan was to say good bye in Stars Lounge after dinner to the gang but security wanted us off at 10 PM - saw Rod and Cynthia this am in front of Inn (2 blocks from ship) and showed them our room and then off - 4.20 hr drive - have 40 pixs think I will put them on cruise@yahoo.com password CC tomorrow little tired today - great trip! XXOO * IF anyone thinks Tom sobbed I have a bridge I can sell you

Glad everyone had such a wonderful Time... Great Photos and I love the secret Surprise.. the 10pm thing must be something new to get off the ship, thats what they told us when we left all of you on Voyager in Sydney in February. The funny thing I remember on Samba when my Friend Elliot, The Master Electrican... LOL Came on the ship for dinner and drinks afterwards. We ended up leaving the ship together around 2AM using Elliot as our Porter helping us with the luggage, they never said a thing.
