Thanks for reporting Marc; I'm sure the only thing making the whole situation tolerable was being with friends! Let us hear from you when you've recuperated!

We r in Singapore 10 hr flight in coach awful.....Regent told me I would have my return flight in biz from Sing to Jax before getting off ship...did not get them so praying they did not drop ball with us we have to get out next sun/mon 17 or 18th and if they put me in coach from here I will be ballistic they have lots of time to get our tixs in place = one email from regent bumped back to me and another said we'll respond in order of your inquiry...GRRRRR..left them all necessary info....unsettling and we want to just enjoy and chill here but feel like cloud hanging over us with no Regent communication about our return flights...no idea what we'll do for refund options...we too had used credits from ING applied to TUT...lots to think about...we had wonderful time seeing all but very sad to miss cruise...suffered jet lag yesterday p and moving around today - on flight over here I was next to young man with worst body odor almost threw up..they moved me back one seat odor still in air...awful!!! good news seeing our son and loving catching up on his new life here...

I am back now. I sent in a LONG list of questions to Regent before I went to bed last night. Hope to get answers today.

LOTS of questions need to be addressed on the offer for those on October 3 and October 17. Confirmation of many issues, air, categories multiple things that need to be clear for everyone.

Plus specific situations that vary from person to person such as the cruise credits mentioned above. I know these issues and I know the questions I will be in touch once I have answers.

I hope that I can get most of the answers THEN I will send out the Regent offer with clarification so the majority will have most of your questions answered. HOPEFULLY TODAY but it may be TOMORROW.

INSURANCE ISSUES
Had emails on this issue this morning and I will address that on my email on the offer but thought I would post this here now.

Any expenses you want to claim from Regent that can be covered by insurance the standard response from Regent is for you to contact and claim with your insurance company FIRST. Trip interruption is covered by the insurance companies so you need to call and start those claims. If the expenses are NOT covered then you can send in to Regent to consider your situation and show that the insurance would not honor your claim.

Wait until the dust settles on the offer so you know what you are going to do first, and start the claims with your insurance company. If you want to contact Regent please do not send your email or letters to Mark Conroy. He will simply pass them onto the correct person to deal with and this person is Mr. Gair O'Neill. It is far better to go direct to Gair O'Neill. GOneill@rssc.com

I will be getting all this done as fast as possible and will be assisting those with issues such as Joanna and others with their return air -anyone else with problems I do not know about yet email me. Be back to you all by email.

Is anyone else interested in the Mariner June 17, 2011 Athens to Istanbul (and maybe a B2B June 29 Istanbul back to Athens) ?? Since this is the closest itinerary to TUT, I would have hoped this would be an option for us. confused

Ngaire, I'm sure you are buried under a huge amount of things right now but there is one question that perhaps you could address with Regent (you might have done so already) so that our communications with them is more direct and to the point.

For those of us that arranged our own air (paid in our case or with miles and not covered by insurance) and may not (or even if we are) choosing one of the "replacement" cruises offered, how are they going to handle the "compensation" of the air.

Marcie, the itinerary that you refer to is interesting also (very similar to TUT) but keep in mind that the weather will be a lot hotter at that time than for TUT.

We looked at it Marcie, and might be interested, although I had the same thought as Peter about the weather.

Checking in to say we are home too, as of midnight last night. Despite the disappointment of the cancellation and the killer travel day yesterday, we got to spend time with some great TUT (un-TUT) pals -- and I was able to work on my pooch game! Marc, next time ....

Thanks for your work, Ngaire. Things will become much clearer regarding how to proceed with claims, etc.

That's a good point Peter. Welcome home Priscilla & John. We're all making it home one by one. Olivia is in the air now I believe.

Someone just emailed me to check LCT. I am on the VERGE of sending out the information but still waiting for a few questions to be answered. Maybe I will send it out "AS IS" so you have some base questions covered and then do an UPDATE if necessary. Everything asked here is covered in this email.

I don't understand this concern about Future Cruise Credits (FCC).

If your cruise was $20,000 and you had $1,000 of FCC and paid $19,000 of cash you get a substitute cruise; no more money changes hands. If your cruise was $20,000 and you had $5,000 in FCC and paid $15,000 of cash you get the same substitute cruise; no more money changes hands.

Of course, Shipboard Credits (SBC) are different. We used up our SBC on TUT thinking they weren't transferable. Now, with no more cash out of our pocket for substitute cruise, I doubt AMEX will give us another $300 credit. I think there needs to be some way to transfer the AMEX credit while letting us also receive the Regent/BK generated SBC that would be normal with replacement cruise.

I think Regent is handling this well. Kangaroo, given they are giving an additional $2K per person credit if you don't take pre or post, is just slightly higher than TUT. So, just taking a refund and $1,000 FCC per person does make sense for some (especially Cat H) and booking another cruise more to our liking.

Just my two yen.

We got home at 2:00 AM this morning. Flew with John and Priscilla all the way. We stayed very close in Paris and enjoyed Priscilla's escort. (Thanks so much sis)

We had a great time in spite of the problems. However, Dallas is a lot closer for a party.

Thanks Ken and Ngaire for all you do for "your cherubs". Ngaire, Russ says you are an angel.

See everyone in January.

Beautiful fall day today in Texas.

You all have your email now on the details. If there is anything I missed you want to know just email me. Those with "special circumstances" that I have not already contacted I will do so tomorrow. My brain wont work anymore today.

This weekend you can contemplate your options post and see what the general consensus is that suits you. WE may all be different of course.

Ngaire - you have as usual done an incredible job, and thanks for all that info. I think we had already done the basics, but it was nice to get the info and we are contemplating our future cruises as a result. It was a great "cruise to nowhere" thanks to you and Ken and how well you do this, in spite of all the issues.

Ngaire has us on great flights out of Singapore Oct 18 so now I can relax....we are having great time here. We had the best time with old friends and meeting wonderful new folks....flying to Greece to spend 5 days with LCTers was a bit much but we had the BEST time and it was painful to say good bye. Have not had time to really look at options being so far from home without our calendars so not sure what we'll do.....

We are finally able to relax too. We left the ship on Weds morning a little after 6:00 am to head to the airport for our flight to Santorini. Saw Kent & Jeffrey as they were boarding. They were going to spend a few days here & then go to Mykonos.

We stayed at Vedema Resort for 2 nights. A lovely property in a traditional Greek village. On Thursday afternoon I received an email from Regent Air & Sea with our return flight details for next Wednesday. I will admit I wasn't really able to relax until I knew about our flights.

Yesterday afternoon we checked into our resort in Oia. It is amazing! We are staying at the Andronis Luxury Suites. There are only 15 rooms & they are traditional caves. Very simple furnishings but comfortable. Wireless Internet included - Jerel is happy. Here is the view from the pool.

[Linked Image]

The service is outstanding. We had dinner in their restaurant last night & it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Ngaire - rack of lamb with a port wine reduction. Breakfast is included. They brought it to our suite & we dined on the terrace.

Today I'm relaxing by the pool, and tonight we are going to see the famous Oia sunset. Hopefully I will get some great photos.

Andrea, had we known about that resort, you might have had half the ship vying for your room there in Oia! Sounds wonderful. Have a great week.

I'm still not there yet, but working my way! Got settled at the hotel around 11 p.m. last night at Dulles, and this morning have to drive 3.5 hours to finally make it home. I'm ready to be there!

Ah Olivia -- we would have happily provided you with bed and breakfast accommodations if we had known. We are like 10 minutes from Dulles.

Andrea - looks absolutely amazing, so glad you managed to put something together out of all this and are having a great time. We have finally recovered and are unpacked and Frank is ready for the BAMA game this afternoon.

Looks beautiful, Andrea! Great choice!

Welcome home to Kathy, Priscilla, Susan, Marc and everyone else who has made it back. Kathy, your itinerary sounds especially grueling - the worst is when you have a long layover before your final flight.

We had a breakthrough today and slept until 6:30; unlike yesterday when I got up around 3:30 AM. The weather here couldn't be better - crisp and cool with the mountains blazing with golden aspens.

Glad the rest of you are all safe and sound and things are going well for all of you.

Santorini is one of my favorite places, for me it would have been the best way to make lemonade out of a disappointing situation. Glad everyone is whereever they need to be and safe.
JoAnn, we are getting ready for a houseful to watch the Auburn game - guess we will be rooting against each other :) :ch: :ch: :ch:

Some sort of good news -- I was told yesterday that we will all be credited with the full 14 days towards tier status - might be important for those who would have moved up a level with TUT. I noticed our account this morning is showing those days already credited.

JoAnn, thanks for posting that. I saw that yesterday but was afraid to post for fear of Regent taking it away. Glad to hear that they are going to let us keep it.

Anyone thinking about substitute cruises?

Kangaroo?

Wines?

There's this cruise - http://www.rssc.com/cruises/MAR111010/itinerary.aspx - on the Mariner that is pretty similar to TUT on the Mariner next Oct.
