Finally ... a chance to post!

We are having a fantastic time. Today we went on the White Pass and Yukon Train. The scenery was stunning. It has been a bit chilly (not even close to freezing), and the clean, fresh air is wonderful. (This is so much more fun than being home packing)

We have so enjoyed meeting everyone. It is nice to be able to put faces with those we hadn't met in person. New LCTers, too. Tom and Mona, Bert and Mitch, Deena and Grant, and Olivia and Joanna's relatives and friends are so nice! We litterally do not have enough lunches and dinners to be able to sit with everyone. Debbie (from Nagire's office) and her husband Russ are great fun!

Oh well, off to lunch with Fred and Pat in a few minuites for specialy ordered crab legs! More later.....

Not sure who's logged in.... this is Arlene (Mrs. Marc posting)

Well just back from town after the White Pass Rail, it was really a great trip and I'm glad we did it. As you saw from the pictures, we saw some really great whales yesterday, with a baby whale just putting on a show just for us about 50 yards from the boat, it was truly amazing and the Orcas's were so close.

Just really enjoying our time with all these wonderful MUSH'ers, and new friends. Its just been so fun meeting everyone, Tom/Marcie, Tony/Joanna, Mark/Karen, Ngaire/Ken, Andi/Doug, Debbie/Russ, Bert/Mitch, Masaki/Amanda, Fred/Pat, Suzanne, Andrea, John/Kimmi, and all those I have missed here. Had dinner last night next to the Marcie - Joanna - Karen group - boy those crab legs looked amazing - they tried to pass some off on us, but we were already too full. Having dinner tonight with my group, Karen and Mark, Kathy, Frank and Carol. We had been going to go to LaVeranda, but switched out for CR when we saw the menu, rack of lamb, filet of soul - yummmm!! Have lots of photos, just have no clue how to even think about posting them, so will leave that to those more experienced.

Hard to believe we are more than half way thru - 7 days is just too short.

Haven't had time to catch up on all the TUSH doings but will soon.

More later.

LOL....several of us keep forgetting to log out on the computer....Ngaire as Karen; Arlene as me so you don't know who is really writing! I just came on LCT and it said "Hello Ngaire" and Karen came on and it said "Hello Cruisinfanatic". Guess we must pay better attention to logging out! <img border="0" alt="[c]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

Anyway, back at the ranch....we're in Sitka today. We have no excursions so we'll walk around and likely visit a local watering hole with Suzanne, Lauri and others. The Seven Seas Society party was last night. The format has completely changed and there is no "most nights sailed" award or even mention of gold or platinum members. (although they did have a dinner in LaVeranda last night for gold and platinum members that some attended, we did not).

Last nights dinner in CR was amazing. The menu was so good that at our table Masaki, me, Tom, all ordered 2 entres....some had rack of lamb, some had dover sole, some had steak and we all had lobster tails that Joanna had special ordered. CD John Barron sang after dinner in Horizon Lounge and put on an excellent show, followed by kareoke in STARS. We called it a night about 1:30am after lots and lots of fun! Tonight is our MUSH dinner at Latitudes.

McKeever, our Captain is Capt. Philippe. He's a sweetheart and was also our Capt. on the South America trip. MUSH is flying by waaaaaaaay too fast!

Off to eat breakfast in LaVeranda.

Yesterday was our rock climbing excursion. Tales of my perilous ascent up the mountain have become shipboard legend. Masaki was videoing me and Amanda asked him why he was so close to the rock wall. Masaki said the closer he got to the rock, the higher up it made it look like I was climbing, lol!!

Amanda and Mark were the star climbers, if we ever get lost in a canyon I would really want those two with us!!

We have been having fantastic weather ever since we have left Ketchikan. The locals are as delighted as we are, as they haven't seen the sun in weeks!!

Sitka, what a great place on earth. It's good to hear that the sun has come out for you guys. Enjoy it!! It's good the gold members didn't have to have cocktails in the laundry for your special event . I'm sure the dinner was much more enjoyable. Tell us more about it......

Hi All!
We are all having a wonderful time! The weather has cooperated, for the most part. Bert and I saw at least a dozen large humback whales today and a "raft" of about 50 sea otters. Aside from all the interesting wildlife and beautiful scenery, clearly the best part of the adventure is meeting all these great LTC friends. Rest assured that you have all been well represented at Karaoke and the disco. We hope those of you on Tush are having as much fun as we are. Hubbard glacier tomorrow, then on to Denali

Back from Sitka - just walked around and had a light lunch. Weather is warm, almost balmy, but it is windy.

Another night in STAR's last night! More of too much eating, too much drinking, too much partying and too little sleep. Oh well, its a tough job but someone has to do it. Great dinner last night with Mark, Karen, Kathy, Frank and Kathy's friend Carol and our group of 6. Had been waiting all week for Dover Sole. Enjoyed the show in Horizon's last night very much, John is so great and such talant. We danced a lot and had a great time, then on to STARS.

Tonight we are looking forward to the MUSH group dinner tonight.

Several of us here in the computer room, so lots of posting going on.

Looking forward to a day "at sea" tomorrow, need some rest. Then our trip to Prince Alyeska with Mark and Karen.

We had the most spectacular morning!! Cruised right up to Hubbard Glacier, maybe 50 yards away, saw several calvings. Ngaire arranged for the MUSH group to go out on the bow of the ship and it was just amazing! Got some fun and great pictures. Just finished lunch. Frank is going to play in the blackjack tournement - hope he has better luck than I did in the Slot tournement! :)
We've been in and out of storms since we left Hubbard Glacier.
Yesterday Ngaire arranged for Bridge tours, and we were up there when we left Sitka - that was fun.

Suitcases packed, just enjoying our last day.

Have not had much opportunity to post on the board lately - it's been WAAAAY too busy for most of that and frankly, I haven't been able to get much of an Internet connection most days. However, we just finished the Hubbard Glacier "sail-by" and it was fantastic. RSSC helped arrange for our group to go out on the bow of the ship and we had such a wonderful time out there - some great views of the glacier and calving.

This cruise has been SO much fun - it's hard to imagine that we'll be getting off tomorrow :( .

Talk to all of you soon!

We got within 1/3 mile of the Hubbard Glacier and thanks to Ngaire, we all were able to go out on the bow to see it. Absolutely amazing.

The seas are really rocking and rolling this afternoon, or maybe it was that glass of champagne I had at the art auction...nah.

Rock climbing was so much fun, but very scary too. I have many large bruises to prove I did it. Marc was like spiderman and he climbed multiple times not only with his cigar in his mouth, but with a headache too.

This has been such an incredible trip!!

The above was from Joanna....not me. This is too comical how many times we forget to log out and post as someone else.

This week has just flown bye....I can't believe how much fun we've had this week and the gorgeous scenery! It has really been just GREAT....such wonderful people. Ngaire has really outdone herself making sure everything was so perfect! Last night (after the going away party for Marc & Arlene in STARS) we ate with Marc & Arlene, Karen & Mark, and Jean & Clyde in Latitudes, tonight we have a large table in Signatures. I can't believe we get off tomorrow!!! WAH! :mecry:

Wow! Sounds like a spectacular day. It must be bittersweet, indeed, to have such a great cruise come to an end. The best medicine, as we learn, is to book another & have another great time!

Hurry home .. we've been keeping the light on for you!
