How beautiful. And how selfless of the passengers. I think it's wonderful - and Capt. Dag - well, we all know he's special.

The thought of the man meeting his newborn will stick for a long time.

So happy for the crew!! Donna, I can't remember if you told me or not but is Felimo still a bartender on board? His baby was born last Spring and I remember the excitement when his son was born. Spent lots of time "baby shopping" in Italy after the birth.

This is just such a great story to hear, I'm sooooooo happy for all the crew!!

I was just reading Debbie & Clay's latest entry. Did Edwin leave the ship in Manilla? I know you all will be sorry to see him go, if this is true. I think he does such a wonderful job.

Donna, It sounds like yesterday was a wonderful day on the Voyager. Your story was so touching, I got choked up too. How great for the crew to spend the day with their families. Too bad it was so short. Hurray for Capt. Dag for arranging it. :woh:

Donna, Your report is so touching. Capt. Dag is indeed a very special man to arrange such a memorable day for his crew.

I'm sure this most wonderful day was appreciated more than his outstanding crew could put into words. You were so fortunate to have experienced it, first-hand. It certainly gave all of you a very close and personal perspective into the lives of tireless staff members who attempt each and every day to make our cruises the special journeys that they are.

Thanks, once again, for reporting in with another fantastic installment. You and Alan really are having a sensational time.

I can't believe that tomorrow is the end of our cruise. We had stormy seas last night and this morning. Seems we have come full circle as that's the way our cruise started. Our sail into Hong Kong was foggy and misty but still impressive.

Last night was the Capt.'s farewell party and they showed a video of our stop in Manila and all the families visiting the crew. Made us all cry again. The crew is so appreciative that we got to see their home country and that they had a few precious hours with their loved ones.

And, yes, Edwin left Radisson in Manila. He told us much earlier in the cruise but I didn't want to report until it was official. We will sure miss him!

Well, tomorrow is our long flight home. Lots of hours for me to finish the blog. I'll report in sometime this weekend, if the jet lag doesn't get me!

This has been a memorable cruise for us. We visited lots of exotic ports, met wonderful traveling companions, ate delicious food and of course drank glass after glass of champagne. Now, it's back to reality!

Donna, your posts have meant so much to me, and personally, your post about the Manila visit touched me the most. I knew about it a long time ago, and feel fortunate to get a first hand report from you. My former husband has a business that reaches to that part of the world, and 3 of our 4 children work for him, so I have always had an affinity to the Philippino staff aboard the ships. They light up when I can name the islands were he is involved. One of my sons just got back from that area of the world, and talked at length about the warmth of the people there, not just in the Philippines, but Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Indonesia. I would love nothing more than to see that video that was shown when you were on your cruise. Of course, it is no surprise that Dag knows what holds him up. He knows he is no better than the weakest link in the chain. Bravo to him for finding a way that these people could be reunited with their families if only for a few hours, and show them their "workplace". And kudos to you and others who told the cabin stewardesses "get lost" for the day! (Tearing up a bit here, like others!)

Wishing you a safe trip home. I know you'll be very busy when you get there. It takes awhile to store away such wonderful memories and return to normal.

Welcome home!!

For the past few days I have been meaning to post to echo everyone's thanks for your wonderful dialogs and blog.

But there I go, and reread (with glee) your posts of the past few days and again just loose it. OK, I'm a sentimental fool, but I know how hard "our" staff works for us, and what personal sacrifices they make to work away from home. (But you've gotta do what you've gotta do...)

And, sniff, sniff, Edwin... a member of our Song family. A huge loss to Radisson, maybe he'll be back with Regent? (or maybe he'll just be home with his "true" family).

Your wonderful, upbeat reports have been an absolute delight to read and have made us all so very, very happy that YOU are part of OUR family!

Donna your travelogue was SO good that I am asking Karen to set up a new part of cruise reviews where we will have a spot that Karen or I can enter each persons LCT name, Ship Itinerary and permanent link to the travelogue.

The work that you put in should not be lost.

Anyone taking this itinerary again can benefit greatly from your information. We now have another travelogue started and we will add that too.

The pictures really make such a difference they bring it all to life.

The interent is such a wonderful thing can you imagine not having it now - it was not that long ago that we did not have this great communication tool.

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments. But...I'm not finished yet. Still adding to the blog so keep on reading. Today, I finally posted Bali so take a look. Sometimes it takes several hours before my posts actually show up on the blog so don't give up if you don't see it!

I'm home, suffering jet lag and determined to finish the blog of this trip in the next few days. Hope it will make sense!

Thanks for checking in and keep having fun!
