Well, due to funding issues, we are getting ready to move again. This time, we are heading back to the US to settle in Huntsville, AL. We will be moving at the end of July.

Before then, we are trying to fit in as much travel as we can. We hope to be able to see Berlin, Krakow, and Moscow this spring. We also are trying to see a bit more of Germany, England, and France; we don't know when we will get back here again. We have loved living in Europe; we just wish we could have stayed longer.

However, we are actually looking forward to settling in Huntsville and living a normal life. We are also looking forward to more opportunities to get together with our LCT Friends!

Now, I just have to figure out how to get airline tickets for TUT; we had just been planning on getting the non-stop from Brussels. :(

:lct:

Well Marc, you and Arlene are certainly experienced at that moving stuff. Sounds as if you will be doing some fun trips before you move back to the States. Enjoy!

You have some wonderful trips planned. Arlene should write a book on moving/packing/adapting -

Marc, Dixiechick is in Huntsville, and I went down to visit her and her husband Ron - it's a gorgeous wee town, I absolutely loved it. I wish you much happiness there!!!

I do not know how you do it, all this moving from continent to continent....I am sure you will be glad to get back to the states, but the effort of getting back must be a nightmare.
As to getting to Tut, you will just have to take a connection or 2!!!

My goodness, Marc!!! I think I said this the last time you moved - you are the only people I know who have moved around more than we have! We wish you the best with your European travel plans and then the official move. Looking forward to meeting you on TUT (and of course seeing the lovely Arlene again!)...

Best of luck on your move! Hope it all goes smoothly! I think sometimes there's more culture shock returning home than going abroad. Hope it's an easy and exciting adjustment for you! I remember that I couldn't wait for a terrific pastrami sandwich! :D

Marc, try Gary Leff if all else fails in your own attempts. That's what I did when I couldn't get anything through USAir after many calls! Worth the cost, if he can find something, but even he says Delta is the biggest challenge of all.

I'm glad to hear you are going to visit Krakow. My Joanna and her husband just spent a weekend there last weekend, as they are trying to get in as much travel before moving back from GB soon.

Marc, if you get to Krakow visit the nearby Auschwitz concentration camp - one of the most emotionally moving sites we have visited.

Marc,

Hope all your travel comes to pass. Welcome back. Just when you were enjoying Europe huh ?? Well, maybe we can meet somewhere in the U.S. after you get settled. Ted is absolutly right about Auschwitz - - we have been there a few times with the students (when we had student trips to Europe) and if that place is not the most emotionally moving site we ever saw. Well you will have to see for yourself.

Cheers, Rod & Cyntia

Welcome back to Huntsville! We probably have a few nice additions since you moved..Bridge Street and a new "house" for the Apollo Saturn 5.

Olivia, any chance Joanna and Mark may show up in Brussels?

Ted and Rod, we are definitely going to Auschwitz.

Sally, a lot has changed in Huntsville over the years; almost all for the good. We are busy going over real estate listings in preparation for our house hunting trip.

Marc,
There is alot on the market right now since BRAC really hasn't done much yet. You should have lots of choices at some good prices. Seems like alot of people are moving into the Madison area -we are out by Hampton Cove.

Marc and Arlene, I just saw this thread, and I think you actually are on your house-hunting trip right now. Hope it's going well! Keep us posted.

We'll be very happy to have you on this continent, but sad that we didn't make it to Brussels in time to visit you. What wonderful plans you have before leaving Europe!

See you on TUT. Somehow, some way, you'll get your flights worked out.

Saw where you posted a few minutes ago.
How was the house hunting trip? Did you find a great deal that is everything that Arlene wanted.

House hunting was great!!!

We saw 25 houses on Wednesday then more on Thursday. We found three houses that were fantastic.

Thursday night, Arlene and I chose one out of a hat. We made a low ball offer early Friday morning. While waiting for response, realtor for another house came back with additional info that raised that house to top of the list. When the first seller came back with a "weak" counter, we told him to beat sand and put in an offer on second house. After a day full of back and forth, and a lowered counter from first seller, we ended up with a great price on the second house.

We went to talk to owners on Saturday. Good thing, too. That house is wired. He is going to provide a wiring diagram and CD of all manuals but I think I am going to have to hire a Geek (bigger geek than me) if I want to change anything. ;)

Arlene is really happy with her dream kitchen and I am happy with construction of house and the price.

Once we put in our "killer" summer kitchen, we will invite the whole LCT bunch for a BBQ. :D

Now, we just need to find a lake house. ;)

Finding your dream home on your house hunting trip is wonderful news. I know both of you must be very happy. Now just to get everything packed up and moved back to the States.

Yea for Marc and Arlene. I know having a dream kitchen was a big deal for Arlene, so I am glad she is happy.

Can't wait until you are back in the states.

Susan

A kitchen is for resale value, so you don't want to mess it up. That is what mine is for.

After all your moves, you must not have one non-essential thing to unpack.
