They are predicting a doozy of a storm for us starting tonight. I went out and got groceries yesterday as I don't think I will be going out tomorrow! Bundle up, all my East coast friends!!

We have a predicted high of 70 today, partly cloudy and a low of 46. I can't imagine living where there'd be a foot of snow.

Believe it or not, it's 35 here in Houston....very cold and windy but no snow. It will be 70 by the weekend!!!

what's a short changeover?

Nancy, I left work early and only had a short drive (less than two miles). It slid twice on the ice and almost couldn't get the car up the driveway an into the garage. The news reports were awful with jack-knived trucks and a tremendous amount of fender benders. My son got off from the country club at 9pm and it took him two hours to get home and he only lives about 10 miles from work.

I wish we'd get SNOW. The lovely sleet we got yesterday is the pits. And a low of 9 tonight when last Saturday it was 89? Must be North Texas :rolleyes:

I was going to have a stress free trip home tonight connecting through Cinci. At 1130, I get a page saying my flight to Cinci was cancelled. Now, I am back to connecting through Atlanta.

Lauri, our son lives in McKinney on Virginia Pkwy and works at Stonebriar Country Club. We are heading over to Plano tonight to have dinner with our friends and are hoping that the roads are OK now.

I hate the white stuff...but we're only supposed to get a small amt and it's supposed to turn to rain...least i hope so!

This weather's been too cold for Dec. This is end of Jan/Feb weather, not Dec. Oh I hate the cold too.

The roads in McKinney were really OK even this morning when I drove into work (at Medical Center of McKinney). I think you'll be OK.
What does your son do at the country club? We've been members there since 1996. McKinney sure has changed but we still love it.

Thanks Karen! Now i know why i didnt understand it - we just don't get freezing rain. It is cold though tonight - they are actually gritting the roads....must be expecting a very heavy frost. Very festive.

I have been watching the "Storm Watch" from my hotel near the Philly airport. I am "scheduled" to fly out of PHL on Friday morning at 8 am................ connecting through DFW to make it home to So. Cal. Everyone is telling me they close down the airport. I think I would rather see it in the news. Next week it is northern Michigan for me - so I think this is just a prep.

Andi, we'll be on the 1st two segments of the WC, leaving Jan. 10 and returning Feb. 24. If this March doesn't work out, how about Feb. 2007? By then, cruising will have all our money and we'll be staying home for awhile.
