Certainly hope that Betty and NancyP have survived the Houston flooding and hope you check in soon! (Wishing we had a LITTLE bit of that here!)

Hoping that they are well and safe. It really looks bad.

I sent them both an email asking how they're doing.

I received the following email from Nancy -

"Thanks for your concern Denise. I'm ok in my neck of the woods! The south and southeast parts of the city had lots of rain and flooding.

Thanks for thinking of us, Nancy"

Very good news from Nancy. Haven't heard back from Betty yet.

Glad to hear from Nancy, that she is o.k. Hope we hear the same from Betty soon. The pics, on the tv of the flooding look awful!
Thanks, Denise for posting news from Nancy!

Betty and her husband Clay are in Washington DC area right now visiting relatives. Nancy is OK, busy selling a new listing in her neighborhood. Houston's weather sure can be extreme! Wishing everyone the end to all this terrible flooding!

Betty emailed me last week saying that she was flying out of Houston Sunday (6/18) for a family gathering in Annapolis & surrounding areas thru this Thurs. (Her timing was good!) I just spoke with my sister who lives on the west side of Houston and within a few miles of Betty. All is OK in that area. She also said Hobby Airport had been severely flooded yesterday (located in the southern part of the city). Glad you are OK Nancy! - Michele

Everyone, thanks for your concern and so sorry I haven't had time to be on the board!

Denise, thanks for pasting my email here.

We've had lots of rain where I live but nothing terrible.

Marcie, I did get a wonderful offer on my new listing last night and was able to work out all the details today! Despite the horrible weather yesterday, I still had 8 showing on the house, first day on the market and a charming home.

Again, thanks for thinking of me. I know Betty is out of town but here area of town was fine.

Hi Nancy,

Good to hear from you. We were all concerned! Glad to hear that the flooding was not in your area, or Betty's. The pics on the tv were scary!

Glad to hear that the Houston folks are ok.
But, please, could you send that rain our way? For those of you who may be familiar with the area, the wildfire outside of Sedona has now gone down into Oak Creek Canyon.

Vickie,

Saw those pics on tv also. So sad. That is such a beautiful area of the country. I do hope there will be relief soon!

Vickie, I will be visiting your area soon and have been watching the wildfires in your area with amazement. I hope they get it under control soon. I will keep my fingers crossed for you, I hope you are not in their path.

Hi Vickie,

So sorry to hear about your area's wildfires. Oak Creek Canyon is an incredibly beautiful part of Sedona. Please take care. We wish you and all your neighbors well.

Hi Nancy,

Great news that you've not been impacted by the flooding and Betty's area hasn't sustained any damage, either. Sounds like you had a very good and productive day! Congrats on the offer!

No Karen, I live in Mesa. But this is some the most beautiful real estate in the country IMHO. I hope that the fires will be contained & that it will still be that way when you visit in August.

Vickie, that is so sad about Oak Creek Canyon, I did that drive years ago, maybe I was going to Grand Canyon for the day from Sedona? It was listed in my "Most Beautiful Drives in America" book, as I remember. Just lovely! As bad as these things are, at least when you think of it of no lives lost, the soil gets enriched once again and all the natural vegetation grows back just as before. Okay, I'm an optimist. Listening to NPR today, sounds like the fires have really impacted Sedona from a business standpoint. They even had an interview with the the CEO of "Pink Jeep" tours, and head of Chamber of Commerce. Trying to mitigate the damage to tourism there. Love Sedona!

These fires are so relentless here in the West...Vickie, you & Olivia take me back to the days when we used to take my daughter's high school Cross Country running team to Flagstaff in the summer with side trips on that beautiful drive to Slide Rock & Sedona. Sigh...good point about their being no loss of human life, thankfully. - Michele
