It's -1F here this morning, -18C. The cold snap will continue through to next week, although not as severe as this. Boy, you must be in northern Missouri, since I see that St. Louis is 3F right now. But wow, you are colder than we are! Of course in Ottawa right now it's -18F!

Yup - almost at the Iowa border. And next week they are saying 50s-60s. Unbelievable.

Glad we are not in the Fargo/ Grand Forks
North Dakota area. They got down to -36 below
night before last!!!!

We seem to be having a "heat wave" in comparison to you all. It is 7 above with a wind chill of -6. However, we have about 16 inches of snow.

It is chilly in FL this morning. I don't think we will get up to 60 today. I promise not to complain though after reading this thread. Even if my toes are cold!

It was minus 8 this morning around 9 am. Our high today is expected to be about 5 above. At least the sun was shining this morning which is rare here in SE Michigan during the winter. The sky is grey again now with flurries again in the air. Winds are not bad today. Tomorrow stays frigid but with a wind added.

I've been out, and the sun is shining and it's really quite beautiful. We too are supposed to have a big thaw for one day next week, temperatures up around freezing! Spring is coming!! The days are getting longer already!

All of you....stay warm. I can't believe the cold weather you're having. On the other hand, we're having unusually warm weather, it's been mid 80's every day and gorgeous. You're all invited to come see us !

I am such a wimp! I am always cold, even when it's 70+. How I ever lived in Northern Wisconsin, I will never know. Now if it approaches the freezing mark I have 5 layers on, 3 pairs of socks...you get the idea. I cannot WAIT for summer!!! Bring on the 100+ temps again!!!

We still tell people in the "warmer" states we've lived in (AZ, SC, GA, FL, CA, and now TX) how we used to have to plug in our car in Wisconsin to keep the engine block warm. They look at us like we are making it up! I'm telling you, we did it every night, and sometimes during the day!!!

Now it is down to 0 degrees and the wind chill is -25. The high for tomorrow is predicted to be 4 degrees. We fly to eastern PA tomorrow where it is supposed to be a little warmer.

Ok...I know there will be no sympathy for us but my home thermometer reads 48 this morning - pretty darn cold for us "thin-blooded" folks in Florida.

I think of it as good training for Antarctica. It might even be warmer there right now.

We awoke to minus 13 degrees with a wind chill of minus 30. All of the area schools are closed due to the extreme cold. In one hour we're headed to the airport, allowing extra time due to numerous spinouts on the freeways. It is way too cold for salt to help on the roads.

I do feel sorry for you folks in FL who are not used to the cold. I sure hope it warms up soon. We get to spend one week there in February.

Here in Toronto a burst pipe caused a flood that caused a power outage in a large area in the west part of the city--subways and everything. Windchill is -20F right now.

I awoke early this morning with the COLD....not only outside BUT in my head!! I hate head colds....my sinuses are pleading for me to pack them off to Arizona.

It feels warmer here now. That or I'm immune.

No, it was 3 blocks west of us. It's been so cold that I've been staying in, so didn't investigate Bloor St. west of here. Saw lots of freezing subway commuters standing on the corner waiting for the shuttle buses.

My son has been affected, but haven't heard from him--he would know he could come here if he needed it, presumably he's with friends somewhere, and who knows, his pipes are probably frozen, but that's his landlord's problem, not his.

Speaking of spin outs - I was one who managed that Friday. Temps much better - car much worse. It's up to 24 here today! Heat wave!
