Gus and I haven't had much time since Christmas to visit or post on the board as we have been busy setting up our new business. After we returned from our Silversea cruise in December, we finally took the plunge and have gone into the travel business. We are now the proud owners - and sole employees - of a travel agency specialising in cruises! We are both cruise fanatics so this really is turning a passion into a career. We are both very excited -especially when we made our first two sales! There is a lot for us to learn - as much as we enjoyed cruising we never quite realised just how many different cruise lines there actually are - though the UK market is dominated by P&O. And as we are an online business, we are both having to deal with all sorts of techy stuff....at least i now know my jpegs from my bitmaps!
The only reason for posting about this on here is to keep everything in the open and above board - which we trust is in the spirit of luxury cruise talk.

Congratulations, Gus and Ian! Your new venture sounds very interesting. I think it's so great when you are able to pursue a passion in your work. I worked in a travel agency many years ago, when I was in college, and I would love to someday find a way back to the travel business as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
