As some of you know, Andi has been out in AZ since last week taking care of her Mom who has been in hospital.
Today the decision was made to move her to a hospice.
Those of you who have had to deal with these things know how difficult it is. For those of you who have not had to deal with such things, I hope you never do.
If your parents are still around, call them up and tell them you love them: simply because there will come a time when you won't be able to.

Oh Doug, please tell Andi I am thinking of her and will keep her and her Mom in my prayers. Its such a difficult thing, no question about it. Having just lost my Dad last Oct, I know that every decision is difficult. I hope she is not doing this alone, if it weren't for Frank I would have been crazy.

Our daughter went out with Andi last week. The three of them had a wonderful chat. Mom got to see her ring (newly engaged). a nice experience, I think.

Doug, I'm so sorry for what Andi and all of you are going through. Unfortunately, I've now lost both my parents and there is never a day that goes by that I don't wish I could just be with them one more time. Such good advice you're giving.

Andi and Doug - I knew Andi's mom was in the hospital but I didn't know it had turned so serious. When I began reading your post Doug I thought it was going to say you were moving her back to New York to be closer to you all. It doesn't seem that long ago that you lost both your parents in a short time period. This is so sad. Your entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

This is so, so hard. My folks, in their 80s, are still helping us "kids" with illnesses, etc., and we don't know what we would do without them, although we also know we will at some horrible point find out.

Dear Doug and Andi,
I am so sorry that Andi has to deal with this horrible situation. As Betty said, it hasn't been very long since you, Doug, went through this with your parents. I have been through it just a few years ago with my parents. I am glad that your daughter is with her to help. Hospice House is a great facility and I hope you both know that her mother will be in the best care possible.
My prayers are with the whole family.
