January has been a tough month for my family. My dad spent most of it in the hospital and passed away on Saturday, January 26. He had a long, painful journey and it has been too difficult for me to post until now.

I was on my way to see him when he died. But, he had a wonderful last day on Friday, meeting his great grand-daughter, Anna, for the first time. I have pictures of Daddy holding Anna and his smile filled the room.

Although I've not been posting much, I have been reading and enjoying all the posts, especially ICE. It's hard to even think about traveling right now so I'll just enjoy yours.

But, there is a bright side. I'm spending 10 days in Roanoke with Anna. There's nothing like holding that sweet baby to soothe my soul.

Thanks for listening.

Donna, we are so saddened by your loss. I lost my father in November and it is still hard for me to think about him not being here. However, there is peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain and in a much better place.

Our prayers are with you and may God grant you peace and comfort.

Oh Donna - so very very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I know this must be so difficult for you. But what a wonderful picture your whole family will have of him holding Anna.
And for you, just hold that baby close to your heart, it will help. Been there done that, not Dad yet, but Mom just a few months before our first Grandbaby was born, and every time I held Lauryn, I thought of my Mom. There is more I could tell you about Lauryn and some strange connection to my Mom, but this is not the place or the time.
Just know that we send our heartfelt condolences and lots of hugs and love and prayers.

Hi Donna,

I haven't been on the board for a while and just saw your note. Eric and I send our deepest sympathies to you and your family. He lost his mom this past June (right before FJORDS) and so we can appreciate how tough these days are for you. We are thinking of you.

Best, Janice
