Living in the fringes of "the rust belt" as southeast Michigan suffers through a terrible economic time does still have some nice benefits. A member of our church is part of the Red Wings organization and all the volunteers from our children's ministry plus their families were invited to a surprise yesterday afternoon promoted as a "Once in a Lifetime Opportunity." Bill and I couldn't resist finding out the surprise and so we went. The picture below shows what awaited us.

It was an unexpected thrill. I had to explain to one sister-in-law why I was so excited, but once she had an explanation she was happy for us.
Thanks for the comments on the photo. I'm wearing the same shirt and jeans today. Hope they bring better luck to my Wolverines. We have a very young team under a new coach and last week had no offense. If it weren't for the defense we would have been clobbered.
