You might have noticed that I haven't been around much this past week, it's because we were in Houston deciding if Mark wanted to take a new job. He is retiring from his current job and he has accepted the new one in Houston.

This is all happening so fast for us!! To make it even crazier, we are moving this Wednesday! We decided to drive back down because our cat won't go into a carrier, lol. Soooo, we are off on a excellent adventure driving for 3 days with a cat in the car.

We looked at houses while we were there, found one that we really like a lot but there are so many houses to choose from that it is mind boggling! We will be staying in an extended stay or a temp rental house for the first few months until we move into whatever house we buy.

Mark and I were so impressed with the warmth of the Houston people and also with the non snowy weather, lol. We had dinner with Betty and Clay while we were there and it is good to know we will have friends in our new giant city!

I should be able to keep in touch with LCT with my laptop while I am driving down so don't hesitate to holler if anyone needs me!!

Like the staples ad says: may it be "that was easy" for you, Mark and Ellie (the cat, right?)

Congratulations to you, Mark and the cat. How wonderful and no snow! That sounds like a dream to me as I hate, hate, hate the white stuff.

Aren't I the lucky one? YES! We had such a good time with Karen & Mark at dinner the other night. And now Clay has a kindred spirit friend in Mark, another Loves to Work in the Yard Man! If we could only get Joanna & Tony down here - with Tony they could be the Three Yardketeers.

Wow Karen, that's great,good luck to both of you, I know you've been planning to move south for a while, so hope it turns out well.

I used to travel with two cats, no carrier, back and forth to the cottage. One thing I learned about the no-carrier approach--make sure they are wearing harnesses and you have leashes for them. But probably you know that already. I once got stuck on the highway in the middle of the night with a burned-out engine, and two cats, no restraints. I trained my current cat from day one to ride in a large carrier.

I spent 5 years in Houston and it was a fantastic experience. Such a cosmopolitan city with fantastic restaurants.

Congratulations to Mark on the new job. And best wishes to all of you on the move. Here's hoping that Ellie behaves herself on the 3-day car trip. Sounds like you've made a wise decision to temporarily move into an extended stay and take your time deciding on your next house. With such a quick move, the extended stay arrangement makes lots of sense.

I know that you've anticipated this move for quite a while and had your PA house on the market. Did you find a buyer or will you be leaving with your house still on the market?

Congratulations Mark and Karen!! I just got back from spending the weekend in Dallas and I had a blast. Texans are just the nicest people!! Hope you have a safe drive and that Ellie makes it there without any problems!
