Arlene, I'm not sure what a MOT means. In Virginia, when I was raising my teenage children, I belonged to a MOTS group...Mothers of Teenage Sons. We met once a month to compare notes about what our sons were telling us and what was REALLY going on. Our sons hated MOTS day.

Happy Passover to all who celebrate!

Donna,

MOT refers to Member of the Tribe. As a Jew, we are members of the Tribe of Israel. We refer to being MOT to acknowledge that we are from the same heritage.

To my fellow MOT's, honorary or otherwise, Happy Passover.

Arlene, please clue me in: honorary MsOT among the LCTers? or honorary LCTers (lurkers and infrequent posters? ) among the tribe?

Heck, it doesn't matter, does it? It's a holiday. Kids off school; friends and family arriving early to help cook; just a bunch of happy hustle bustle. Hope everybody has fun tomorrow afternoon and at Seder.

And wishing EVERYbody a happy springtime!

Cerinda

I wonder... do you think there'll be matzoh on the Mariner next week?

I second Sue--happy every holiday to everyone.
as for me, my 15-year old has decided that he is too old to say the four questions (asked by the youngest at the seder). So he is trying to figure out which of his classmates are younger than he is, and how he can get one or more to attend.

My favorite part of the seder is opening the door for Elijah, and reciting how anyone who is in want should come in and participate. My mom's (she is almost 84) favorite part is smiting everyone with the plagues. Now that we have no more little ones, we let my dog find the hidden matzoh (affikomen)

What are others' favorite parts?

Diane,

We wrote our own seder last year, taking our favorite parts - parting of the Red Sea is at the end. I recorded some music on the iPod and we have toys (toy sunglasses for darkness, Plastic Bugs and Frogs etc.) to symbolize the plagues and blue ribbon we hold on to with the person next to us. At the end, The Bunny Hop starts and we Bunny Hop into the kitchen where the main course is buffet style. We serve soup and Gefilte fish during breaks in the service. Really fun! Last year it fell on Easter Sunday, but everyone voted for a re-run.

Diane,
Our grandson, J is 13. He will still find the affikomen, because when he finds it, he gets to sell it to his granddad. He gets better every year, at those negotiations. Fun to witness!

Betty--If it's ok with you, I won't pass that on to my Noah. Talk about smiting with the plagues!
