Sadly, Viva Laughlin is no more...which makes way for the premiere of TAR 12 on November 4th!

I changed to CBS on Sunday night, thinking I'd see Cold Case after 60 minutes. When Viva Laughlin came on, I thought "oh, it will be something like CSI". The first time the guy burst into song, my mouth flew open and I burst into hysterical laughter; is that the reaction they were looking for? I had no idea that was coming, but I didn't really see it as a long-running epic by the time it was over.

Being big Hugh Jackman fans, we knew what the show was about and I told Jerel there was no way it would last!

It reminded me of a "Bollywood" movie. IMHO, it needed more outlandishness in the musical numbers to pull it off.

A fellow alum landed a slot on "Viva Laughlin", so it was fun seeing him on Prime Time on Sunday. Sad for him it's been pulled, though. Another idea not yet ready for prime time.

Cheers, Anne

Well this is exciting news! I am glad I don't have to wait til 2008 for a new race but I will have to be taping up a storm while I am on LAMB!

Did CBS announce the teams yet?

What a cast of characters, lol!! I will try not to post anything that will spoil it for the west coasties. I think this season will be pretty good, there are several teams that I like a lot like the Grandpa and son. I don't think they will go far but he is a hoot! I also like the hippie couple and the peppy ministers. Not sure about the goth couple, they are kinda hard to look at  but they don't seem whiny. The team I dislike the most is the whiny short blond girl and her boyfriend. I wasn't disappointed in the last place team.

Karen the whiny girl - are you referring to Jennifer (her hair is long and in a braid) and Nathan? If so, I totally agree with you. I like the Grampa and his grandson team.

Yes, I think that's the same one. They were the ones fighting and having donkey problems.

So has everyone watched last night's episode? I was really happy with the team that came in last. In fact, either of those teams could have been last and I would have been happy! Jerel couldn't believe what Nathan said to her - something about she was the worst person ever when she wouldn't run for the clue when they first got to Ireland.

I loved the tiny church in Ireland! Haven't settled on a favorite team yet, of course the brother/sister from New Orleans are just automatically going to get a lot of my attention.

I am glad that whatever his name is that came in last, came in last! I was annoyed when he stole the other teams taxi!

Karma strikes again - I love it. So glad the taxi-stealing team came in last! The donkey challenge made me laugh.

I like the Asian father/daughter team. Probably not going to go very far, but I'll enjoy watching their story.

I liked the father/daughter, grandfather/grandson, and brother/sister teams. I agree that I was not sorry to see the eliminated team go. That bike ride looked like fun!

Karen, you are right, I liked the both father/daughter team and grandfather/grandson team a lot less last week! I admired those who gave the ditch vaulting a go, though - I don't think I would have ever succeeded at that one.

Let's see what tonight brings!

Just got back from our NCLA Hawaii cruise and watched the last 2 episodes last night. Amazing how people can change! I do like the daughter MUCH better than the father. I think (hope) he'll "redeem" himself at some point! ;)

Yes Karen, and same with Survivor?

This last episode of Survivor was.....   So much so that I am going to have trouble convincing my husband to continue watching.

Can I mention a location at least? I'm not a big Amazing Race fan, but I watched it last Sunday night, and they spent it in Lithuania, mostly in Vilnius, but also in a rural "cultural museum".

I've been there, spent a week in Vilnius, with a trip to an area much like the rural one. Lovely city, it brought back such good memories. Highly recommended as a travel destination.

I missed both Survivor China and Amazing Race last week and will again this week. I'll be able to catch up on Survivor because it is available to me On Demand but AR is not. I could not wait to find out what happened so I've gone to the CBS website.

Survivor contestants must all remember that they are playing a game of Survivor. That's all I'll say.

Sounds like Ron got harsh again with his daughter but I'm amazed that they continue to do so well. Walking on stilts with a hernia - ouch!

Did anyone from PANDA catch Sunday's Amazing Race? They raced through Osaka and the pit stop was at Tempozan Park, near the big Ferris wheel! That's where we boarded the ship.

I can't say I have a favorite team but there is one that I would really like to see eliminated before the final. It looks like TK and Rachel will have an uphill battle with being 3 hours behind and having the "speed bump" but I would like to see them make it.

Wasn't Osaka beautiful!! I am rooting for the grandpa and son. I was rooting for Kynt and Vixen and was sad when they got eliminated. I loved how they appreciated the land and people wherever they went.

I was rooting for them too Karen. I know the editors manipulate the footage to create a buzz, but Kynt and Vixen were really cute, and really open about what they were experiencing. I'm hoping the couple who fight all the time will go--if they win, I will be really disappointed. I guess I'm rooting for grandpa too.

I had also grown to favor Kynt & Vixen for the same reasons Karen & Wendy have expressed. I was sad to see them eliminated.

It was good to see Ron control himself for an entire episode. Their experience on the Amazing Race appears to have greatly improved their father/daughter relationship. I want to see them plus Nick & Don and TK and Rachel in the final.

I like all three teams in the finals. The father has begun treating his daughter with more respect and I have liked the other two teams from the beginning. It will be unusual to watch and not root for a particular team. I was especially happy to see the team who finished last on Sunday not qualify for the finals. Is it possible to have a three way tie?

So happy to see them go. I was sorry that the Goths didn't U turn them. Of course I guess they are too. If Grandpa wins he surely owes a huge debt to his grandson who has done all the heavy lifting. Gonna have to Tivo the finale. I am on the Antarctica cruise just preceding the Icer's, gonna be tough not to ask someone to email me the result!

I like the hippie couple best, but that shouldn't be a surprise to people who know me!
