I just checked our booked cruises and found an online butler form to fill out for our Feb 24th departure.. It asks for our choice of insuite bar set up, sodas for the fridge, bar snacks, pillow choice and choice of bedding. This is a nice new touch, I just hope they follow through and I don't have to chase them around for the requested egg crate for the bed. I really think that Radisson is trying to please. I'll let you know if this form worked when we return.

Oh, that's great! I'll be watching for your report on this one, for sure.

What are bar snacks, the little thingies he brings in every afternoon?

The choice of bar snacks...pretzles, peanuts, mixed nuts, dried nuts? and potato chips.

Yes, I noticed that a few days ago. Indeed, a very nice feature. Not including Wild Turkey betrays a certain lack of sophistication!

That sounds like a really nice new feature! We've had a Butler a couple of times on RAdisson, and our last one was far superior to the first one, but filling out the form ahead of time would have been really nice, although as I said, everything we ever wanted was in our room within an hour or two.

We've had three butlers. The first one needed a little more training, plus was overwhelmed by the number of cabins he was assigned (many travel agents onboard, having parties). The second one wrung his hands in angst because we simply didn't have very much for him to do. The last one was probably the best (Glen on Navigator); he was calm and efficient.

Those bar snacks would be too tempting; the limited canapes that come in the afternoon are just about right. Two bites and they are gone.

I really like the pillow request thing; we were coming very close to cornering the market on pillows last month before I taught our little stewardess how to feel for the feathers that I did NOT want. She heard "four" instead of "foam".

Showing my English lack of knowledge, can I ask please, What is an 'egg crate' for the bed? We are booked on Navigator in November 2006 and have always had a problem getting a comfortable bed on our other 3 Radisson cruises, so your info may help. Thanks. Don.

Here's a picture of an egg crate foam pad for a bed, Don. They are intended to make a mattress more comfortable:

Our "butler choices" are already available online for our June PG cruise - but I find it strange that they list brand names for the standard hard liquors, but then list "Scotch whiskey", "bourbon" and "vodka" under the Premium heading. Why not list the brands of premium they offer? And why isn't gin listed as a premium choice? I love my Bombay Sapphire! :)

I am wondering if we can just have beer stocked in lieu of the hard stuff, but you know what will happen is that they will give us 4-6 beers for the entire cruise and consider that our maximum entitlement. Two whole bottles of hard liquor equal, what, at least 24 beers!? Anyone here have any experience with asking for beer only?

I wouldn't even care what our in-room bar had if Radisson were all-inclusive, but we have to pick our 'included' bottles carefully for this one...

Nonetheless, we're really looking forward to this cruise!!!

Hi Kristin, we were on the PG in December and asked for beer in place of one of our bottles. We got 6 cans plus you are always started off with 2 in the frig along with the sodas and water (though, the beer is not replenished as the sodas and water are). We were offered a choice of several different beers and went with Hinano, the local brew. We got a bottle of champagne for the other bottle as we are not big drinkers of the hard stuff...

The butler form sounds like a nice touch, but we had absolutely no problem getting what we wanted from our excellent stewardess. We talked to her when we arrived, and the next time we left the room, everything was as we requested upon our return. We also asked her for only Diet Coke, club soda, and bottled water to be stocked in the refrigerator, and it was done exactly as requested all week. I was pleased that it was real American Diet Coke and not "Coke Light" which is usually what we seem to get overseas.

Thanks, Dena! And I know what you mean about "Coke Light" - it seems to be a staple wherever we are vacationing. Just not the same as real Diet Coke!

I just found ours; didn't fill it out yet, because we don't go until August (although our wishes never change, so I'll fill it out soon). I love that capability!

I think I would be delighted to see Coke Light onboard, because I'm almost sure it's the same thing as the Coke Zero that I am so addicted to now. Hmm...I wonder if it will be Coke Light in Europe.
