Wow, Chip, you must be an enormously understanding and generous person. I would have been appalled. I can't imagine being treated that way by any service person. I mean, sure, they have some rules and, if that's the ambiance they have advertised and wish to maintain, then it behooves them to try to enforce them. But not by publicly castigating and humiliating a passenger! That's low-class service, if you ask me.
Kudos to you for keeping your temper. I'm not so sure I would have done as well.
