In the sixties and seventies, when we were financially able to travel for 3 weeks in summer, and having an elderly Jamaican lady as a housekeeper to look after our daughters, we would spend time in various European cities. In Venice, we met a couple in their seventies who were on their first vacation out of the U.S. They were from Pittsburgh. He took about 15 pills a day and was restricted as to eating. We said that we would dine together and arranged to meet about 9 p.m. "Oh no. I have to be in bed by 10 !) He was a very wealthy man. A glass manufacturer who wanted to ensure that his sons were capable of running the business before he travelled. Now this is a great pity. BUT. chacun a son gout !.
Aren't we cruisers lucky to have foresight ?
Just a thought.
