Our beach side bungalow was upgraded to an overwater. This caused a small problem, as it was a fair walk out from the main resort where the beach, pool, restaurants, services were located. Probably needed the exercise to walk off the food!

The overwater bungalows were arranged around a coral lagoon from which you could swim or snorkel direct from a ladder leading down.

The rooms themselves looked 1970s retro Polynesian but despite the look they had only been renovated in the last few years and this was the look they were aiming for.

Here we met up with Beth & Crystal and Tom & Kathy. From the B&K group we have also met Gail and Eugene, and Mark and Sharon. Funny story, I was on the bungalow deck checking out the fish when someone hailed me – it was Mark swimming with Cheron and Gail in the lagoon. He recognized me and thought he would say hi. Pretty spectacular way to meet someone for the first time!

Our first full day, Tom, Kathy and myself went snorkeling in the lagoon – lots of great fishes to check out just off the room. I enjoyed just hanging off the balcony looking down and seeing who had come to say hello. We also checked out the turtle sanctuary.
