At Bora Bora you literally land at the airport on the atoll island (“motu”) fringing the lagoon in the middle of which is the main island. So this means no cars – you need to take a ferry or boat to your hotel or main island. We were greeted by our own classy launch to take us to the Four Seasons Bora Bora.
The Four Seasons is also based on one of the atoll islands fringing the lagoon looking back over the turquoise water to the main island and the spectacular mountains.
The resort is laid out with 100 “rooms.” The majority of these (80+) are overwater bungalows with the remainder being private beach villas. I had splurged for the overwater bungalow.
