Regarding favorite line/room; Seven Seas' balconies got 35% and Crystal's balconies got 32% response. Then further down, among 34-52 year olds, 95% prefer less formality; and among 53+ year olds, 63% prefer less formality. So, even though we all have our own perspective on this issue, it seems that among folks who buy (high-end?) travel from Virtuoso agents, the broad majority prefer no black-tie.
