Can anyone tell me if there are any of the category H Voyager suites/cabins that do not have trouble with vibration? If so, can you tell me which one(s) to select. I am considering the 2007 November transatlantic cruise by myself. If there is a possibility of vibration I am sure an ocean crossing could magnify the vibration.

Any opinions on whether going to a category G would be worth almost $300 more? The only time I sailed the Voyager it was on deck 10 we didn't have to worry about vibration.

Thanks,
Adelle

Hi Adelle!

We will be on Voyager in 645 this June and again for that same crossing boarding in Monte Carlo for the Grand Crossing. It's an G category. I can't answer your questions, since Voyager is the only RSSC Ship I haven't been on yet. Only 78 days to go though.

When I booked my upcoming cruise on Voyager, Ngaire told me not to consider an H. She said to go for a G, and I did.

Hi Adelle,

I was in H667 on July 2003. At that time the vibration was very uncomfortable when the ship picked up some speed. To me the $300 would be a small price to pay , but that's me.

When you were on Deck 10, was your cabin at the back of the ship?

I like the G locations the best, but had an H two years ago, mid ship, and was very happy.

What I usually do is book an H and then ask for an upgrade when I get on board if I don't like the room. This way, it only costs me 50% of the upgrade cost. Unless I am going for a particular suite or area, it has always worked for us.

We have sailed in 664, a Cat H, twice inlcuding a transatlantic. Yes, there was a slight vibration. No, it did not bother us at all. Would it bother you, I don't know. Maybe the few hundred dollars for a Cat G would be worth it. The mid-ships deck 6, if available, would be the way to go. Don't get one on the stern deck 7.

I would pay the $300 and get a midship G if I were you.

Marc - what's up with cabins on the stern deck 7? I'm in 711 for FJORDS.

Stern is back. We are in 717 just a couple of doors down from you; no problems there. I was just pointing out that not all G's are necessarily better. I think they are numbers around 770-780 that are on the stern.

Hey, with the new program, won't all of you frequent travelers be upgraded?

Thanks for your responses. I have decided to book category G instead of H.

Maria, We were not in the stern area on deck 10. I believe we were in the mid section but closer to the front than the stern sections - 1017. It was great!

Thanks again,
Adelle

Adelle, good idea in my opinion. Have never sailed aft in the ship, but too many reports about that part of the ship, and that's where all the H cabins are. I always book G on this ship, and try to get those treasured little cabins on deck 6 just for the location!

Adelle,

IMO you have made the right choice. Enjoy your cruise!
