I am crashing fast BUT google Excellent Europe - click on apt Landini (Rome apts Campo) - or Fontana which we also saw - we had Landini - wonderful host landlord

Welcome home, Joanna! I just looked at your apartment online. Lovely! What a wonderful way to experience Rome (or anywhere), staying days at a time, finding home-grown restaurants and shops, interacting with local people, and soaking up the real ambience of a place. Experiences like that form the special memories I hold especially dear from our travels. When John and I recall something from our trips, it's more often "remember the fun guy in the gelato shop in Rome" or "remember that great little restaurant run by the guy who spoke about as much English and we spoke French and so called an English-speaking friend to come over to the restaurant to help us with the menu" (in Paris, no less). Somehow those memories often stick with me better even than some of the grand sites.

Anyway, I'm rambling. What a fabulous week you must have had! Get some rest, and I'll wait patiently for the details.

Oh Joanna - way to go!! What a fabulous place to stay. One of these days.

I know you can't really do CROSS because of LAMB - but you will be missed! However, lucky us, we get to cruise with you on B2B, so we will console ourselves with that knowledge. See you in May.

What a marvelous stay in Roma! As much as you surely hated to leave, I am so glad you're back, my friend!

You gotta love those points or miles. I just realized that we still have one nights stay free at Marriott from when we signed up for the Marriott Rewards Master Card. It gave us one night free in Lisbon last year and an additional 20,000 bonus points. Now we have enough points for another night, which we hope to use when we overnight in London on our way to Funchal! Now if we can find a deal on a hotel for our three nights in Paris, we should be set. This exchange rate is a killer though!!! :eek:

Well, we will just have to make due without Tony. However, no doubt Denise will keep all of us on our toes and very active, which will be good for working off all that great food and wine we plan to consume! Just wish you and Tony were going to be with us - but hey, you gotta pick the cruise that works for you. You will have a wonderful cruise with the LAMB group.

GOSH I forgot how much I missed all of you while away on Fjords/Rome - what a great bunch of folks - amazing how we handle delicate issues - just as loving friends - :ch: :ch: look forward to new trips -

Today was a big "ouch" day as PANDA appeared when I got my Amex bill. Saving grace, lots of points for future air travel! Can't wait to hear the CROSS'ers adventures as they repeat TAP!
