I'm trying to figure out whether to trade miles for TAP or FJORDS! So, what, they only allow 2 biz seats or so on each transatlantic flight? I signed on to awardplanner.com, and was thinking to use them to help me. Have done nothing so far, knowing that free air is available for FJORDS in economy.

Olivia, when we sailed transatlantic, I couldn't force myself to use miles for a one day ticket (we drove home from FLL). Therefore, I just bought an upgradeable fare. You need to look at cost of each ticket vs Regent's benefit.

I'm back from a trip to Telluride and checking into air for FJORDS. Just as an fyi there are discounted business fares to Copenhagen available on CO, DL, NW, AA (at least there are from ABQ) - approx $2600-$2650 round trip - I or Z fares.

We may fly Delta as it is only one stop for us in Atlanta - UA/SK is one stop also, via Dulles or O'Hare but I'm not seeing any discounted business fares.

I think tonight is the night to book flights home. Anyone else planning on staying up to midnight?

Marc, we have missed you! Are you away? As I already booked reward travel for TAP (prices were unbelievable for my itinerary), and burned 80K miles to get a perfect schedule that I wanted, I'm still waiting for actual schedules to be available for paid travel for which I can upgrade. I try to pay and get miles toward status, and use my miles to upgrade. USAir won't let me do that until past the 331 or 335 day thing, whatever it is. Now I'm getting stressed!

Strangest thing....

I was able to rebook outbound via AMS on KLM instead of CDG on AF; that was good. However, I couldn't get either afternoon KLM or evening AF flight out on Saturday 7 July. Looking seriously at any back up plan that would work, agent said that the morning flight SUNDAY (332 days out) was available from Paris to Tokyo. Looks like we are going to spend Saturday night at the Copenhagen Airport Hilton as we have an early flight on Sunday; is anyone joining us there? Of course, I will be looking to improve these flights as time goes by to save that vacation day since we won't get back to Tokyo until Monday morning. :(

I ended up booking my parents on Virgin from Boston to Heathrow and we will have to figure out short flights (probably on British Air or SAS) to Copenhagen. Unfortunately, Continental does not have any access to KLM yet (which was my preference)and their sole flight of the day from Newark to Copenhagen is only available at the premium of 250,000 miles per day  Considering my husband and I are both platinum, we are nont vary happy. The agent told me they will not allocate ANY seats at the normal reward amount until they know they cannot sell them. In any case, at least I have booked my Mom and Dad across the pond!
Cheers, Pam

FJORDS was lonely so I wanted to give it a little bump.

Has everyone booked their flights?

Yes good flight over out of Atlanta with the Sistahs and Matassas - so-so flight back from Rome but a problem with Alitalia rescheduling so got good flight back on Delta from Rome - BUT only after MUCH MUCH checking and complaining about bad Alitalia flight - Joanna

Finally booked our air a week or so ago. We are flying via Chicago & London to Copenhagen on American, then flying to Geneva after the cruise for a week in the French Alps and back to New Mexico from there via Dallas. American has somewhat reasonable business class fares, ~$2700, as does Delta.

Need to take Winnie and Al off of the roll call list; I had thought that they were coming but they aren't.

Any others to add to the list? It is getting close!!!!

Marcie, unfortunately, we had to jump ship so remove us off the list. WAAAAHHHHHH :mecry:

Our Fjords $$$$$ is being spent on a new addition to our house being built as I type this.

I know Michele...we were really torn between meeting so many LCT friends on a wonderful cruise or adding on to our house. Listening to all this hammering and pounding I wish I was on a cruise now and when I returned it would be finished and I could yell out "driver move that bus" and there would be our new sun room, bathoom and gazebo! ;)

Plus, both of our parents have been quite sick this year and that is why we chose not do to CROSS, too. My FIL just got out of the hospital Sunday evening from pneumonia (he has heart failure, asthma and emphysema). My mom has been in and out of the hospital for tests with her heart and has more bad days then good - so we just feel like this year we need to stick closer to home.

Have no fear one day we will sail with all our LCT friends!!!!

Sue, I, too, will miss the opportunity to meet you and Tom on FJORDS. There are stages in life where you just have to do what is needed most. Many on this board have aging parents, with the same concerns. Best wishes to all of them for a healthy year ahead.

Maybe we'll cruise together in '08

So so sorry, Sue & Tom, about your parents' illnesses. You're doing the right thing by staying put. And, after we endured a remodel last year, we can finally say, "It was worth it." So, hang in there, my TUSHee friend.
By the way, Olivia has a good idea - think ICE 2008! - Chitlin

Sue, so sorry I won't be meeting my fellow Ga-girl on FJORDS. Home remodeling and ill parents is a stressful combination. Hope you can find a relaxing cruise before long.
