I am an active poster on another board and all of a sudden it seems like some of the Regent posters there have gotten out of control with snarky and derisive comments. With little over a week until my first Regent experience, I just wanted to hear from a few of my happy camper cruising comrades -- feel free to remind me of all the WONDERFUL people I will meet on board the Mariner! :lct:

You will LOVE your Regent experience - you will happily be posting us 24/7 - please do not allow some board to question you now??? Sure you have done your research and are confident about your choice, yes? - and what can you do with one week before boarding?? Stop worrying and enjoy -

I am on the Voyager now and it is terrific. Is everything perfect? No but pretty close.

You'll enjoy your time on board.

I agree with Joanna . . . stop worrying and enjoy!

You'll have a great time. I don't hang around those "negative" cruise forums anymore. I'd rather spend my time here or doing something else that's positive and fun.

I'd be very curious to know where snarky comments about Regent are being posted. Would love to know where it is getting crazy. I love to read a diversity of opinion. The Regent boards I read are filled with positive commentary, helpful advice, some negatives, yes, since Regent isn't perfect. The Regent CEO (or whatever his title is now) has acknowledged changes are taking place at Regent. We all hope for the best. But they will inevitably be discussed, the pros and cons. Maybe LCT should have three general threads, one were any criticism or negative report cannot be posted, another devoted to all the criticisms, the "bad stuff," and the third to the arena of one-to-one personal comments. Then the whole spectrum of opinion could be posted and all of us could select what to read before clicking the mouse.

Pat, I was just remarking on some sniping that's been happening in one of the threads.

Pat, I didn't mean that people here shouldn't post their true opinions or feelings. Sharing the bad as well as the good is the only way to get the true picture. The difference is LTC members know how to do it in a constructive way. I always appreciate your honest views because they are thoughtfully presented.

I object to forums (not this one) where people report gossip that isn't true, don't know how to respond to opinions in an adult manner or turn threads into personal discussions against each other.

Good Morning! Cruzndiz (Linda) first let me apologize to you if you came away from the CC board feeling that you were going to meet unhappy people on your cruise. I am one of the posters in one of the threads that I think you were referring to…..I say one as there were other threads going on at the same time that one could consider controversial but I’ll only speak for myself. I have been saying constantly and all along that you will have a marvelous cruise and I assure you that you will meet wonderful people and have a very good time. I am a very happy person and content in life as I’m sure is the other person I was in disagreement with. I do recall both the other poster and I respectfully agreed to disagree and I personally do not bare one ounce of animosity towards this person. I do acknowledge that we all view things differently and have different comfort levels and that you obviously viewed it as slamming and left you feeling worried about your upcoming cruise and for that I am truly sorry. I regret that I may have contributed to your feeling of angst. Please go and don't worry. I am looking forward to hearing about your first Regent experience.

I have found LCT to be honest in all ways in their reporting. Yes, most reports are positive but if there is a problem it has been reported too. I agree, stay away from the negative people on board the ships and there will always be those who are fault finders even in near perfection. This is a site where all issues can be discussed with honesty and openness and I appreciate it.

Thank you everyone (especially Pat :) ). This was not a case of posters saying negative things about Regent but more along the lines of people possibly misinterpreting each other's comments and blowing things out of proportion. It's kind of hard to explain a "feeling" but I started thinking "Geez Louise, if these are typical Regent passengers, I'm going to have to avoid conversations that might spark controversy or keep my mouth shut at all times" And since I am so entertaining, I'd hate to deprive my fellow pax of my witty bon mots :o

My pleasure Linda! I can't wait to hear if they did some of the changes in the drydock that they were reporting last year. Keep your eyes open for the new addition of walk in stairs into the pool instead of those straight up and down ladders and make my day by blogging that they are in. I so hope they did add the new stairs in drydock.
